yes you can. I tell you what. Why dont you list out the exact steps you are taking, and what is going wrong.

OK,

So the unit is a Z120 that has been upgraded to the the 130 and now 140.

I went into the level 3 debug mode (POSEIDONDBG ON), and I am able to go into the maintenance window by pressing the top of the screen within the navigation menu. I go into "file manager", and copied the navi.exe from the PRG0 folder onto an SD card. I edited that file to do both the software bypass and the splash screen bypass.

Now, I cannot replace the navi.exe file that is in use when I go back to the unit. When I choose "Apl Exit", it just goes to a blank screen because I haven't launched explorer(because I don't know how to). So that's where I am - unit working fine, but not bypassed. Hoping to avoid going the testmode route, because, obviously, I'm not that tech-savvy.

Thanks again

ok, my mistake, it seems that maybe these units dont have windows explorer on them. The u310/f310 does which is where I tested this.

Ok, so then you will need to use original testmode (with testmode.key) to replace this. Cannot do from filemanager while navi.exe is running. There might be another way, but for now it would be testmode.

Cool - I'm not crazy then. I'll try testmode tomorrow. Can't imagine why it wouldn't work. But I'll report back either way.

Success! Thanks pionara and condi!

I didn't have the PRG flag, so I copied PRG0 to PRG1, edited the navi.exe in PRG1, put PRG.FLG on the Avic, and I now boot out of PRG1, with the software bypass and the splash screen hack. I thought this would be the "safest" way to do this, as I could pretty easily go back to my untouched PRG0 if something went wrong.

Having an "uncrippled" Avic is so nice. I'm not going to start watching movies while I drive, but I'm pretty happy to be able to use the navigation properly.

I can confirm that this worked great on my X9310BT, no issues really! Thanks again guys!

Keep up the good work ;)

I have an x940BT at Application version 4.00 (verified in testmode menu) and my navi.exe has the same memory locations as version 4.01. The nag screen bypass worked and the softbypass brings up the safemode off menu, but I still get the video blackout while the car is in motion.

Hi, I have F9220BT.

with safe mode off could see videos while driving. and navigate all menus.

I updated with cnsd310 and although I see the option in the menu, do not let me see videos while driving, although this mode off.

if I put in on, limited access to some menus. and I can not put off until the car stops

I applied the hack to navi.exe. and I still can not videos with the car in motion. but if I can put the menu in safe mode on and off while driving.

any solution to watch the videos with the car moving?

Hi,

I have x9310bt and have updated it to 4.01 and have patched navi.exe. I can also do most of the things that required the parking brake. But video still requires the parking brake to be on.

I have also applied the patch to stop the nag screen coming up, but it comes up when I switch to my ipod.

Thanks for the all the great work Pionara!

Hey guys, i have X9310 originally with 3.0, but upgraded to 4.01. i can not find the offsets 15aefc and 15aee8. can somebody help me out? thanks in advance!

Posted Dec 23, 2012 · 20:00 UTC#35

i can confirm it works on my X9310BT. haven't tried video yet, because i am not planning to watch video while i am driving. but the NAVI and phone function can be used while driving now. 100% pure soft bypass! thank you very much, saved me $140 dollars for wire bypass!

Posted Dec 23, 2012 · 20:02 UTC#36

but i think there are typos in #1 thread.

"1. Grab your navi.exe from your unit. (Keep a copy as a backup.) On your pc, with hex editor change:

a. offset 15aefc from 02 00 56 E3 to 09 00 56 E3.

b. offset 15aee8 from 01 10 A0 E3 to 00 10 A0 E3"

i think you mean 15aef0 and 15 aee0. or maybe i have slightly different unit(9310 is OEM version of 930?)

thanks!

Hi,

is there any news on if video works on the 940BT units using this softmod? I want to try to get these steps done on my unit, but if it doesnt work using the softmod I am not sure if i want to take the risk of bricking it.

Did it work for anybody on the 940s without having a hardware bypass installed?

Thanks!

so for the nag screen when starting app mode or watching video, it seems there will need to be another mod made to av.exe - will be some time before I can look into this one, but others are welcome to work on this puzzle also in the mean time

I have a Z110 (originally) upgraded with CNSD310FM. After doing your nag screen hack, I have not seen any nag screens. I don't use Aha, but I do use Pandora over BT. Never seen a nag.

I wonder if bigwhopper80 (1 post) did the patch correctly (either wrong offset for his version or wrong PRG dir). Otherwise, I think there would be more posts confirming the issue.

Sorry, I was referring to the nag screen hack, not the soft PB mod - which is a totally different issue.

I actually haven't tried to install it yet on my 940, I have very little spare time lately and i fear messing it up which would require more time to tinker with it to get it working again. Thats why i was trying to find out too if it even works without a hardware bypass installed to see video while driving using this mod.

Ooopps, I just noticed which thread I was in. I saw pionara's comment about nag screens - and I thought he was talking about that (nag screen) hack. It seems you were talking about the PB bypass hack (without modding the cable). So - sorry - my comment above really doesn't apply to this hack - I did the hardware bypass.

Thanks for your hard work on this and on the nag screen removal. Followed all your instructions carefully and both hacks worked the first time around. Internet high-five!

The weird thing about me enabling the safe mode toggle is that I don't actually want to do anything while I'm driving except TURN THE SCREEN OFF! Why on earth did Pioneer set it up so that the 'screen off' button (and shortcut when you hold the menu(?) key down) only works when you have the parking brake on? The only time I want to turn my screen off is when I'm on a dark highway somewhere and the bright light from the screen is shining in my eyes...

I'm having the exact same problem with my F9220BT. I have even tried the harness bypass with the mute wire and everything. The video still turns off once the car is in motion.

Any solution to this yet?

I found the solution for the AVIC-F9220BT:

I am interested in carrying out this mod as well but the thing is that I've tried scouring youtube and google and I cannot even find the basic files required to put on my sd card.

Can anyone please be kind enough to provide links to download the files that are required to go on the sd card ?

For example navi.exe  would be from the Z140bh but I need Testmode file that I can put on the sd card in the first place to get into the test mode.

I know this thread has not been checked for long time but anyone ??

I do not want to go and get the hard hack done.

Thanks in advance

All you need to get started is "super" TestMode.key on the SD. Get it here -> http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35110-avic-f40bt-testmode-fixed-firmware/page__hl__supertestmode&do=findComment&comment=256194

BTW, what's "super" about this testmode key is that it unlocks privileged (and dangerous) functions like copy/paste/erase. Always have a backup before mod-ing. I recommend copying /USER to an SD and keeping it as a permanent backup.

Someone come kill me now. I bricked my unit.

I did however make a backup of all the files but I just simply cannot paste them for some reason. Whenever I go in USer menu every item is disable other than "select, copy, delete, help"

I thought deleting all the files in user folder would enable the paste option but it rather killed my unit.

How do I paste the files back please help me someone otherwise this would be a very expensive piece of brick that too in my car.

I'm guessing that you are just having problems with the crappy user interface in the File Mainenance functions of TestMode. There's a mis-titled Youtube video   http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35110-avic-f40bt-testmode-fixed-firmware/page__hl__supertestmode&do=findComment&comment=256194   which shows pretty well how to do it. What he is showing is not Hackmode but Testmode.

BTW, make sure you got the super testmode key from post #4 of the link I gave you. Be sure to un-zip it before you put the key file on the SD.

One other thing you should know is that paste will not overwrite an existing file. That's not your immediate problem, but might be useful later.

thanks a lot man but never mind got it fixed but I still cannot apply the bypass though.

Also, I have AVIC-Z140bh and it shows I have version 4.000. I've tried everything from this post http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-to-supereasymethod-beta/

and this one nothing works.

In hex editor I do not even see the numbers he provided in the first post..

I feel like I have no other option left apart from physically getting it bypassed :(
