iOS updated to 8.1, Spotify is at 1.8.1.8 and my AVIC-F60DAB is at 1.07. So far Spotify seems to be more stable then before these updates. Sometimes before when I'd hit the play button in Spotify, the Music app whould start to play insted. This does not happen now. And when i navigated the playlists and touching a song in a playlist it whould enter it like a menu entry (showing an empty list instead of playing the song). That too is fixed (hopefully).

Ugh...2,400 miles and Spotify didn't work with CarPlay.

Pioneer AVIC-5000NEX with 1.06 (then with 1.08 as it was released mid way through trip).

Nope. Nada. Zilch.

I was left with nothing but 100GB of iTunes music to listen to.

A new update (version 1.9) to Spotify dropped today.  Has anyone tried it with CarPlay yet?  Didn't get a chance to on the way to work today but will play around with it on the way home and over the weekend.

Waiting to get out of work so I can try it.

Just tried it out on the drive home and it worked flawlessly for me. I was able to select tracks, view artwork, play radio, and everything else without a problem. Spotify is back!

View artwork?!?  C'mon...now you are just playing with us.   

Background artwork is still as dim as ever for me using the latest update for Spotify (and any other compatible music app.)

But the Spotify app itself seems to be working better for sure

Tried it yesterday night with the new Spotify version - works great!!
