To all those Crutchfield haters who saved $50 and bought it from an non-authorized Pioneer dealer, and then went on to flame Crutchfield all over this forum, try to beat that deal. AVIC-D3 AND backup camera ($250) with the backing of an Authorized Dealer. Even if you decide not to keep the backup camera, that's $170 easy on fleebay. That brings the cost of my AVIC-D3 (with free antenna adaptor and wiring harness) down to $680 shipped. Pretty tough to beat...

I tried chatting online..."Ethan" said NO...told me to call customer service
Called Customer Service...first guy said "NO, you are outside the 30 day return policy"...so...I kinda threw a tiny little hissy fit about how it was a pre-order and then was on backorder and that it was just delivered last week..... he transferred me to somebody else...
The lady said no problem because I was within my 30 day window (even though I'm not?) and they'll get it shipped out asap.

The radio is about $152 after the 15% discount, gives you additional free installation gear and the free ipod cable.
I'm not sure it it was worth it. I needed to add one more Pioneer item to get the 15% off package deal.
If anyone needs other accessories, you can substitute for other Pioneer items, (speakers, amps, etc....)

well, i think you coulda put this with the other threads regarding d3's but good job on a nice unit.
as far as what you could sell it for, thats relative, Id suppose your time is worth something.. and blah blah blah, I hope you didnt get it to sell it, seems like alot of trouble for a bit over $200 if so.

Buying the other radio isn't wprth it IMO just to get a free $30 Ipod cable. Profit from selling that HU on eBay looks to be less than $30, so you are better off just buying that cable separately.
I just saw on CC's website that they now have the D3. They want $1099 for it. That's about the suggested retail price from Pioneer. Makes CF a better deal and you get installation kit free. I bet BB will be the same price.

You could just as well substitute the radio for some $50 pioneer speakers to push you into the 15% off bracket.

Just joined the AVIC family! Purchased the D3 after seeing the in-stock notification in my email and "free backup cam" on CF. Well I finally did it.
Just got off the phone with Crutchfield. Got the same thing as the OP did.
Plan on selling off all the extra goodies, besides the iPod adaptor, and along with selling my D2 brings me to even for swapping my D2 to the D3.
Still not 100% sure if I'm going to keep the D3, though with CFs return policy I have 30 days to decide. I still like the adjustable screen of the D2 better because the radio in my car sits lower in the dash and I'm also not happy that I can't use my TV tuner with the D3, so we'll see.
