Sorry for the long wait people. Now, this is stilll a work in progress, but MOST of the logos have been updated and work fine on my N3!

MUCH thanks to JasonH for his tremendous help with the logos and ohlarikd for getting me started and motivated to do this!

I was able to rip the data tables and all the channel LPS & DPS files, and all the category files from a D3's disc, do alot of HEX formatting in the data files, create a few new jpgs, and incorporate them into the CND-V60M discs!

Right off the bat I know I need to make a new logo and update the DAT file for the new ReachMD channel and if there are any other new channels added in the last few weeks.

Also, if there is a channel that doesnt have a logo for it yet, instead of the ugly satellite in space with the black background as a default logo, now there is a cool looking 3-dimensional XM Satellite Radio logo for those until I can update them.

I tested most of the channels on my way into work at 4:00AM this morning, will try them all on the way home tonight from work, and if all is ok, post my work here tonight.

For those of you who have no ability to burn dual layer DVD's, I can provide a copy of the East. West, or both CND-V60m discs for a nominal cost for the time and effort.

Now thats a great job!

Has anybody figured out how to update them on a Z1 yet?

Posted Apr 29, 2007 · 18:56 UTC#4

wondering if this update is ready for release yet?

Posted Apr 29, 2007 · 19:01 UTC#5

Sure is, but noone has shown any real interest since I first posted this. Besides, since quite a few newbies here feel the need to be idiots, I no longer feel helpful I'm so done with helping anyone. Noone ever shows thanks or respect.

I appreciate the contributions you provide! I personally dont have a use for it right now, but am greatfull. Do as you want though, cuz its about your happiness.

it sucks that a few n00bs can spoil the whole bunch. i do appreciate all the work you put into this. i'm hoping you'll change your mind and release it. there are more ppl that appreciate all you do, as opposed to the n00bs that spoil it for us

thank you guys. I do appreciate it.

oppie1, PM me. I can send you a set of disks "gratis" (free ;) ).

Posted Jun 08, 2007 · 17:48 UTC#10

was wondering how i would get this to put in my 60mt image? any help or files would be great thanks in advance

PaisanNYC, thats an awesome hack you figured out! Will this work for my D3's GEXP10XMT? If so, I would love to have your update!

Posted Jul 16, 2007 · 14:38 UTC#12

Wow, I guess I should visit this area of AVIC more often.

This is actually a REALLY cool thing, if you've figured this one out. Is this something that would work with a Z1 or is it only the current N3?

Congrats and great work!

Sorry guys, unfortunately this will only work with the older Dx/Nx models. The D3 is a newer model and a new disc will not be available until 2008. If I had a copy of the D3 disc I could modify it, but I do not have a copy.

is this one of the discs that came with the D3, by chance? I could burn a copy, I think.

Hi guys, I was wondering if there is anyway to update the logos in a Z1. I have read through all of the threads, and not come up with an answer. PaisanNYC & Jason< I commend you with your efforts for this as it relates to the N3, but was curious about the Z1. I did read somewhere about another member having an issue with this, I think I have the same problem. I seem to have the logo in "List" mode, but lose the logo when I save them as presets. Any additional info anyone could provide would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Does any one have the CNDV-70MT with the updated XM Logo's?

I just bought a AVIC-D1 today and will need to get a set of New disks since they would be very outdated.

I see people saying that they are Dual Layer Disks. So is there 2 Disks one for East and one for West? Or is it one disk with each layer having East and West?

Let me know If the updated disks have the XM Updated logos.. I would be more then happy to pay for them.

Cheers

Whit

Is there any updated XM logos for the D3? I found a new channel on XM, channel 59, XM Led, all Led Zepplin and other new channels that do not have logos. Is there a way to down a file so I can burn it on my copy of the Avic disk so these logos will appear instead of the default (((XM))) logo?

Now that the XM and Sirius merger has been approved, there has already been changes to some channels. I'm sure there will be more.

I would be interested in a tutorial or something like that for updating the logos for channels. Us technically savvy folks should be able to put together one. Afterall, I don't envision Pioneer jumping at the chance to keep their products updated.

Let me know how I can help.

I just got off the phone with Pioneer and they said that the station logos are updated through the Map Update discs. The next map update won't arrive until April '09! Lazy *** Pioneer :x. Take several hours to fix this and make your customers happy.

I'd be willing to pay someone on here, that has the skills to fix the station logos, $20 for their service

Well, I say that everyone should either:

1) Call them at 800.421.1404 (opt 2, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1) and let your voice be heard, or

2) email the message below to Pioneer at [email protected]

** Please forward this to the head (Manager) of Customer Service **

As you may or may not know, yesterday XM and Sirius completed their merger and changed the station lineup for their service. As a result, most all of the station logos displayed on your navigation units are missing. So, last night I emailed your department to ask about a fix.

Well, I just got off the phone with your customer service department and was told that the XM/Sirius station logos on all Pioneer units will be updated with the next Map Update due out in April. You are doing a disservice to your image when you're going to make ALL your customers that own a navigation display (Z-series, D-series, N-series & F-series) wait 6+ months to have their displays corrected.

Normally I could understand the wait...if XM or Sirius makes a slight changes to their station lineup. BUT, they just merged and more than 2/3 of the stations (and logos) have changed.

I'm not the only one venting my frustration. A browse at the AVIC411.com forums will show other customers that would like this resolved:

http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19359

http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19365

Please don't make your loyal customers wait 6+ months and spend $120 to fix their displays.

I thought there were rules against double posting?

Posted Nov 17, 2008 · 16:10 UTC#25

Guys, here is the answer i've got this morning. My Avic-Z3 is afected too, bummer!!

"Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc.

At this time, there is not a solution to the changes made by XM.

The icons are stored in the map data of the unit. In order to update the icons, you would have to update the map data.

I do not know if the change will happen on the next upgrade or not.

Thank You,

Rocky
