I was able to unlock my AVIC-S1 using (http://benji46.free.fr/GPS/WinCE%20Unlocker%20V3.rar ) and installed TomTom on it.

It also works as an MP3 player, text editor, photo viewer, video player ...

I copied tomtom 6.2 off a friends' SD. It worked pretty well

I have a tomtom one and an Avic-S1.

How did you manage to get tomtom to work?

I have unlocked the S1, put in my SD card with tomtom maps, cannot find the application to start it.

Thanks

This is an excelent idea.

Please teach us through the process.

BTW: Does the Tomtom 6.2 include Europe's maps?

Thanks

After unlocking using the well known and frequently mentioned program I cannot find the navigation application.

My idea was to install TOMTOM next to the Pioneer application. All of the Europe maps won't fit on the fixed flashmemory so I planned to limit it to a map of one country.

By the way I fully welcome the suggestion of a step by step instruction how to install TOMTOM. TZTZ managed it so please share your expertise with us.

thanks!!

I am absolutely fed up with the S1, having a terrible POI database and even worse navigation that seems to try and take the longest route possible every time.

If I can get step-by-step directions on loading a cracked version of TomTom for Pocket PC on an SD card and have it autostart, that would be fantastic.

I would gladly pay Pioneer for a decent map / software update, and my GPS keeps yelling at me to upgrade my maps, but none are available. Seems Pioneer has ostricised this unit.

i downloaded the file mention above for the s1 hack but its french, what is this file for and how to i apply this file. can someone help me on this I really would appreciate it

you have to copy these files to sd card and power on your pioneer.

then apply "yes to all" and wait.

or, you can just copy this file to sd card.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67823938/autorunce.exe.html

then windows ce works fine, but I can't run TomTom or another application for GPS :/

I'm still trying, if I'll do it, I'll write solution.

thanks for the help, have you heard of mio 2.3 it's a map but not sure who uses it ie: tom tom or megellan I seen a post on another site and this guy talks about this file "mio 2.3 U.S Maps" I have downloaded it from a bit torrent for the state of florida but have yet attempted to put it on.

Ahh finally I did it :)

Step by step:

1. Unlock your Windows CE by this tool:

http://benji46.free.fr/GPS/WinCE%20Unlocker%20V4.rar

Unpack it on your SD card.

2. Download MIOMap (this is release for Becker, but works very well)

http://rapidshare.com/files/48283711/Ywhtkdks.rar

and unpack it to My Flash Disk\MNAV

Folder MAPS have to be copied on SD Card.

Now, just run MNAVDCE.EXE.

If GPS doesn't work, change in sys.txt baud to 4800.

You can also put shortcut to Windows/Startup if you want.

If you need more maps:

ok I've unpacked everything onto sd card , when I boot up the avic I get the pionner logo with "per...X" if I select the x it dose nothing am i supposed to wait or hit the x button. when i x button dosn't seem to do anyhting.

Hmm.. You should have hidden taskbar, on bottom of screen.

Anyway, if you unpacked win ce unlocker on the SD card, and confirm "yes to all", you should have desktop with some icons, e.g. windows explorer.

and don't forget, that you have to unpack MIOMAP (except maps) into "My Flash Disk" - it's internal memory.

Posted Nov 07, 2007 · 20:32 UTC#16

I had no idea that the task bar was at the bottom, I'm new to this but I think I about have it. the mio map I downloaded dosn't seem to want to work, i'll have to find another copy of it. I'm downloading tomtom right now I heard it was better than miomaps. I'll let ya know how it goes

I have one more question does your avic boot up to the unlocker automatically for you? or do you have to hold the volume button and menu button down? from what i've read people seem to point towards just having it on an sd card and when you turn the avic it just pops on. just wondered how it's suppose to load. mine only boots up thru vol/menu botton.

Posted Nov 08, 2007 · 10:04 UTC#18

Yes, it boots up automatically. of course, when I hold menu+volume, it's works too.

You can try reflash your avic

http://hpcmonex.net/roms/avics1img.zip

Just unpack on sd card, and run avic in service mode (hold menu and turn on), then choose WINCE Upgrade+format from SD Card (or something like that, I don't remember excatly).

Then unpack files from Win CE unlocker.. At the start, it overwrites some system-files.

As I wrote, this version of miomap

http://rapidshare.com/files/48283711/Ywhtkdks.rar

works fine.

But if you will run TomTom, tell me know, I still don't know how to do it, and probably I stay at MioMap.
