Sorry guys for not check the site for a while.

I just got mio 3.3 tts installed on the device, TTS feature speaks the street name as "in 200 meters turn right onto Main Street".

To answer most of your questions. As soon as you got your device unlocked, the device is becoming a windows machine and think the SD card as a bootable usb disk. To leave the changes recoverable, I did not touch it's internal 2G Flash disk (where Pioneer software is installed), meaning, you need an SD card in the slot all the time for it to work.

Most of the applications (igo, mio) can be copied directly to the SD card, the maps need to be copied to the map directory under where the executive is (miomap.exe or igo.exe)

You need to do some hacking on the registry for tomtom to work, mostly to make the default "My Documents" onto SD so that you can install maps into this directory.

To start the software you copied, click on start/programs/Windows Explorer and choose the exe file on "Storage" -- Your SD

I got the Mio software to work, but the screen is so much more dim than it is with the pioneer software. Is there any way to make the screen brighter? I tried adjusting it in the Mio software but it doesn't change the brightness.

Thanks PysiekChicago, but I tried that already.. it apears that it doesn't even change the brightness of the display. Day and night mode work, but day mode is still too dim.

Drdolil99, which version of miomap did you install on your pioneer?

I used this one: http://rapidshare.com/files/48283711/Ywhtkdks.rar

another problem that I noticed is that it doesn't display the turn in the big black bubble in the upper left unless I am on the highway.

I have the same problem. Its only shows the turns on highway in the black bubble.Maybe its should be like that.

anybody else having stability problems? Once it calculates the route, miomap crashes even before the first turn... then I need to reboot it from the back switch

How do you change the sys.txt baud to 4800. Can anyone provide the step by step instructions? I've got the maps and everything finally loaded on the AVIC, but no GPS signal after I've left the device on for 15 minutes now.

Thanks
