just updated the firmware on my F77DAB and AVICSYNC (android phone) works..! ![]()
AvicSync news
Good to hear! Now we just wait for the USA site to get the update as well as the iPhone app to appear. So what are they charging for the 'extra' services?

No Update for Germany yet....
But thank you for the info.
Oh, Germany: http://www.pioneer-car.eu/de/de/avicsync
Looks like it's up in Germany now
Jup. Working nicely in German.
"This app is incompatible with all of your devices."
Really? Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P. Fuck you Pioneer
I really don't think this was supposed to be released yet... I would give it until next week..

Really? AVICSYNC with the new firmware update works like hell
Very cool.
Yeah... I was given some info but promised not to repeat it.. what I'll say is there was a target release date for 11/19 and then a slightly revised released date... If what I was told is accurate, the android app release and Europe firmware was probably an accident.. I don't think we were supposed to see it until next week.. But who knows.. Things change all the time.. I'm just saying for those who can't get the app to work.. Give it until next week is all..
Lets go Pioneer USA
So anyone from Europe have any reviews/comments/complaints on Avicsync? I noticed the Google Play store mentioned an in-app purchase of $36 being available, what feature are they charging $36 for?

I caved and gave it another go. The error I was getting forgetting Bluetooth pairing is down to android auto and not avicsync. My Moto X play still loses sd memory card occasionally when connecting phone to use avicsync. I've only downloaded the latest update map due to not having sufficient room on my phone. My map expires in a few days on the app but click the renew button and I get error 101.
On the up side I can plan a route on the phone for now.
I have an avic f77-dab.
I think end of term report would say "buggy - probably could do a lot better"
I should add that regards the download of maps on phone I'm given two sets to download, the original 2014 and updated 2015 ones both about 3gigs each for Europe. I only installed the latest as can't think k why you would want both sets?
Plugging phone into USB 2 defaults to either android auto or avicsync depending on what you used last. To change to android auto tap the apps button on on the home screen and it'll offer to disconnect from avicsync. To switch from android auto to avicsync then tap the connected services button at bottom of map screen. You are then asked to disconnect from android auto.
I take it it's not available to you in the USA yet?
Nope no USA yet. Looks like no trace of the iPhone app in any country too

Not right
...avaliable and work for EU.
I managed to download the app but it's useless until you pair it with the head unit, it won't pair on my 8100 so I guess I'll wait for the real USA release with the updated firmware

hi all i have the AVIC-F77DAB, i also have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 and have downloaded AVICSYNC and ANDROIDAUTO now Androidauto works fine however my head unit doesnt even recognise AVICSYNC even tho its listed and installed on both devices. I have upgraded to firmware 1.03 but this makes absolutely no difference. I have tried both bluetooth and wired, am i just being thick?? if so what am i doing wrong?? Im uk based by the way and as i do over 100k miles a year it would be really nice to have live traffic rather than have to rely on radio data.
Also is there anyway to copy this software to a stand alone GPS unit?
regards
Simon

You need this firmwareupdate to get it to work ![]()

Greetings
Thankyou worked a treat
wow... just wow..... read the manual and am just stunned by what I saw listed for android device support... fact they went through these devices and specified them in the manual tells me it will be a long time before they branch out...
Samsung SGS2/3/4, Note 2, Tab2(really, a damn tablet)
LG Nexus 5
Asus Nexus 7
..... where are all the HTC devices at?????.... no Nexus 6
For the items they are using and services/calls within Android, having it compatible across multiple devices is very easily done... many are using same SoC and chipset stack as well now....
Further frustrating is that Pioneer's freaking flagship headunits are not supported at all it seems!... ![]()
