Pioneer AVH-X8800BT

Thank you very much for your help in solving the problem with the blocked car radio by password.

(sorry for a machine translation, but I wanted to share my experience)

In 2016 I bought (for about $ 1000) the smart car radio AVH-X8800BT and secured it with a password. Everything worked to complete satisfaction. Sometimes it was necessary to unblock the car radio with a password after unplugging the car battery - all without a problem. In the meantime, I updated the firmware (downloaded from the manufacturer's website) to version 1.05 - everything worked until it was necessary to disconnect the battery from the car service. Then it was not possible to unlock the car radio for the non-tapping bottom row of keys on the graphical keyboard (touch screen)

All possible procedures according to the user manual have been tested, including resetting the car radio panel. It happened that although I remembered my password, I did not have the opportunity to use my own car radio. I turned to the Pioneer Authorized Service for help, but they did not think anything about me and said I had to send the car radio to them for service. That's what I did, but they could not solve the problem for 3 weeks. Finally, they told me that the radio must open the radio for the repair. The repair will cost $ 700.

I immediately refused to take the radio home.

I believed there must be a way to make a hard reset of the whole system. After several hours of searching I found this web page. Finally, the hope of using my smart radio again. And indeed, the files and procedures listed on this site worked - to bring car radio to its factory settings. In 5 minutes I resolved and I immediately updated the firmware to 1.07. Obviously, the bug was in firmware version 1.05.

This assistance should be manufactured Pioneer free of charge and with apology to the owners of the AVH - ****. None of that happened.

That's why I thank you again for your help many times.

I just purchased a used AVH-4100NEX from a salvage yard and it has a password. It seems like the first link you provided that contains the boot files is no longer working. Where can I get the boot files from?

Yes, PLEASE!

I've tried the Factory Reset instructions from the original post...no luck. I suspect a firmware update renders these files or the procedure useless.

How/where do I get this goldenkey from?  I don't think this works with the newest FW upgrade

Posted Apr 07, 2019 · 03:27 UTC#65

So i think im in the same situation needing this GoldenKey. Had an SD card go bad, downloaded and installed the required image and got the unit working again, then did a firmware update to 1.11 (before doing this i set a password (second attempt and didnt have a password so got locked out straight away). Worked fine for a little, then updated the BT on the unit and surprise surprise it asked for the password, but the password isnt the one i initially set and the password hint is blank. Any help would be appreciated :)

i am having same issue on a vehicle that i just purchased. i replaced the battery and now a password pops up and i have no clue what it is. please help!!!!

For me it did not work, we formatted 2GB USB in FAT32, unzipped the RAR file and restarted the drive, nothing happened.

Unfortunately the numerical part of the keyboard as well as the bar are locked, I tried to do it via USB and it does not work, because the code is numerical, I do not know why this time when disconnecting the battery stopped working, previously it had already happened without problems, a couple of months ago, however in this occasion the last line was blocked, numbers, space and the go key, do not respond.

Someone may have unlocked the numeric keypad, maybe some test code or service.

First of all, Thanks.

cravatts you are a life saver. I purchased a vehicle where it was locked out because of the password. I did exactly what you said in your first post and it worked. I had the AVH-4200NEX. My jump drive was just formatted as FAT32 and i plugged it into the USB slot 1 and it read it after a minute.

Take the file with a friend who handles linux, the * .iso files of the RAR are corrubtos barely occupy 86 bytes and could not be mounted as iso in linux.

Greetings.
