not just with diesl trucks. I have a 2007 Saab 93 convertible and my z2 will not power up in the am. I have to do the shut down when the cabin warms up. Sucks but I love the unit so I can put up with it.

I recently installed my D3 and have the exact same problem on my 05 Duramax. So, please keep us updated if anyone has any suggestions or finds a fix.

I now have a big hole in my dash where the D3 was. I boxed it up with a letter to Pioneer explaining the problem and sent it off to them via FedEx today. We'll see how long it takes to get it back. I'll keep everyone posted.

I don't think I'd buy another Pioneer. I just got my unit back and it is a refurbished unit. I wouldn't have minded if the unit was ever right but it was screwed up since it was installed. I told the vendor I bought if from but have not heard anything back from him. I could see if I had it for a couple of months and it was operating properly and then just broke but paying full price for a refurbished unit is crap!

Is this normal for them to do this?

Anyhow, tomorrow I'll get it put back in and see what happens. If it still doesn't work I'm going to demand a brand new one or demand my money back. P

How long did it take to get your unit back from Pioneer? I'm just trying to figure out when to schedule down time on the truck to pull the dash apart (again) to put the unit back in.

I had to send my unit back to the vendor I bought it from. Turns out he is not an authorized dealer so somehow he either sends it back to them himself or has other ways of dealing with it... I should have bought my HU from Crutchfield :x

It took about 10 days to get it back from start to finish but they sent me a crappy refurb'd unit that didn't work right so it went back again and so far I've incurred about $42 in shipping charges...

I just received my unit back (seems like the original...haven't had a chance to verify the serial #). They replaced the "DVD servo board". Hopefully, I'll have time to re-install it this weekend.

Just finished reinstalling my D3. Everything seems to be working properly. No issues what so ever.

My suggestion now is that if you are having this problem, send it back to Pioneer as it seems to be a problem with the DVD drive (unit has to boot from the DVD *every* time it's powered on).
