AVIC-x9115bt ON/OFF Memory & Saving Technical Difficulties!!!

Basically since I got my DVD Double-Din, The USB was Damaged so I always used my Ipod thru the AV2 port. and I couldn't sync my iPod thru the touch screen! So my next solution was to use the SD Card option! I then noticed no matter if I switched the av custom settings or had a DVD or SD Card, when I stopped and turned off my car and came back to Resume where I left off In the Movie loaded in the DVD slot, or half way thru the Folder and song I had playing on the SD Card, Nothing was saved and the head Unit never left off where I left off at??? So I searched the setting to see if I missed something, and I'm pretty sure I didn't! So my question is why Isn't it capable of using it memory to restart me at the point or BOOKMARK I left off in the movie? cuz i would even try to bookmark where I left off and Nothing? It gets annoying turning on the DVD player and switching Ipod and video from OFF to on and changing my SUB % Bass Booster settings and CUSTOM EQ every single time I get into my car??? DO I have a faulty Unit or is there something we Did wrong in the installation? cuz it has been doing that even Before we BYPASSES my unit to work while I was driving! THE WEIRD Part of it all is that it saves the Navigation HOME address and my history where I have been and Destinations I saved and plugged into the navigation part! It also saves the view of my navigation and the estimated time and actual speed and all the above settings you can change in the navigation settings! so I feel like its not a faulty unit and maybe I'm missing something simple if that part of the head unit works just fine and the rest is or basically seems almost defective! if you could help me resolve this problem it would be great. Thanks, guys for your thoughts reccomindations and opinions!

Oh OK, well we had trouble doing the bypass so we actually took it out and put it back in multiple times. so I don't know how much of the head unit my buddy actually unplugged while he was messing with the mute wire harness and then the parking break harness. I guess maybe it was never completely removed from behind the dash. i don't think everything was disconnected or is that wire you are talking about on the same harness as the MUTE Wire??? And I don't know much about all this, but doesn't there have to be constant power, for the device to even turn on and work? Basically that sounds great and i appreciate the reccommodation, but which wire is the constant power wire? and are u saying the ignition wire is doing all the work turning it on? and that the other wire maybe, not connected at all? but would the memory and the settings I saved on the navigation part of the head unit still save and work if that was the case? If you could write back and give me more of your opinion and explain to me how I fix this problem that would be great! My buddy and I are starting tomorrow afternoon on the rear view camera and hopefully be able to look over your suggestion and try to fix the problem and re check all the wires to make sure the are installed correctly! but like I said for the month I have had this deck it has always been like that and i have taken it in and out to mess with that mute wire a total of about 5 to 7 times but we do it while its still hanging out the dash. well goodnight talk to u soon! Please anybody who is experienced in these trouble shooting problems please leave your comments and advice thanks help much appreciated!
