  1. I am curious if anyone knows if there is a Pioneer CD or DVD changer that is compatible with the D3? I have noticed that on the AV menu screen there is a tab called M-CD which apparently is for a multi CD player or CD changer. I have checked on the Pioneer web site for a changer but could not find one that is compatible for the D3. Does anyone know of any that are? I am considering getting one so that way I can leave the Navi DVD in all the time.
  2. Yes anytime you do a new search such as a P.O.I. search for a restaurant you have to put the Nav DVD in. Also if the route you are taking is very long, you may also have to put the Nav DVD in at some point along the way. The memory only holds so much info. That is the drawback of the D3 in that it only has 1 DVD slot so you have to keep putting in the Navi DVD when you want to do a search.
  3. OK well I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I have tried using a Verbatim CD-RW disk and still cannot erase the files. It's says that they are read only files which cannot be erased. I have tried erasing them using windows CD-RW erase wizard and tried using Nero. No luck! I burn the disk using nero. What method are you guys using to erase the disk. And how do you re-format it, I can't find that option?
  4. I have done it all the time - works fine for me! I've even re-used them for vids too! Can I ask what burning program you use?
  5. I am curious if anyone has ever tried to reuse a DVD RW? And by reuse I mean burn some mp3's or WMA's on there and then later on erase them and burn some new ones on there. I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work. Seems that once the disk is finalized, you cannot erase the files.
  6. I used Nero and just copied the navi disk onto a memorex dual layer +R DVD and it worked OK. Try another burning program.
  7. What kind of Camera do you have? I am thinking now that maybe the Camera which I have, the Kenwood, is only meant to be powered on when the car is in reverse as was mentioned above.
  8. What about resetting the head Unit. The owners manual says that you have to reset the head unit any time you install another product that connects to the Head Unit. I asked the installer about this and they say that it won't make a difference. Did you guys have your head Unit reset?
  9. I just got a Kenwood rear view camera hooked up to my D3 and it doesn't seen to work when I try and put it in rear view mode. The Camera works fine when I put the car in reverse, but when I am driving or parked and try and switch to rear view mode all I get is a black screen. I played with all the settings to make sure everything was OK, checked to make sure the camera setting is on, but still no luck. I asked the installer if they hooked it up right and they said that there is 3 wires to connect, one to reverse, one to accessory and a ground. They claim that they have connected it right but s
  10. Well I tried it and it worked fine. I used Memorex +R DL DVD's and backed up the entire Navi DVD, about 7 GB. I just used the disk copy utility in Nero. No problem. Thanks for the info that I got from here.
  11. Ok that's fine, just as long as I can play the music. I tend to waste allot of CD's by always adding a new song or two to a bunch of songs that I already have on one or more Cd's. Eventually I will buy a good Ipod, but for now I'll just use my Nomad along with CD's. I thought I would be able to use RW Cd's and keep deleting the tracks to add new ones, but it doesn't seem to work that way.
  12. Well in that case, I am going to try my Creative Nomad with it. I'll just have to make sure that I have the right cable to connect it.
  13. Can the AVIC D3 play any other mp3 player other than an Ipod? Has anyone tried other players such as Creative Nomad?
  14. Ok thanks for letting me know. I'm going to buy some dual layer +r DVD's and see how it goes.
  15. I am not sure if this question has already been asked. When making a back-up copy of the Navi DVD I understand you need a Dual layer DVD as you need to store about 7 GB of info. However, do you need to use a DVD -R Dual layer DVD, or will a +R Dual Layer DVD work? The reason I am asking is because all I can find in the stores are +R Dual Layer DVD's. I am not even sure if -R Dual Layer DVD's are available.
  16. I am new to this site, so I apologizes if this question has already been asked. I had my AVIC D3 installed about a month ago and the installer said that he bypassed the parking break connection so that I can play video while the car is driving. However, when I do put in a DVD the video only comes on when I am at a stop. When the car starts to drive, the video goes out and I get a unsafe message. Is there a way around this?
