I've searched the site and surfed google images but didnt come up with anything good. Id really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction or even do a quick background for me. I'd really like something with the text "pioneer" and the Audi Rings, on some kind of blue background maybe with some kind of effect soits not too plain. TIA!!!!!

after talking more with the installer, i learned that he used a relay between the illumination wire and the headlight connection. Apparently, my audi had the signal backwards, putting out 12V when the lights were off and 0V when they were on. My installer has removed the relay as i suspected it was causing the problem. Any ideas on how to wire this up if in fact the connection sends "opposite" voltages from the expected. or does it sound like my illumination is tapped into the wrong place? TIA

Thanks, i had the shop remove the illumination wire from wherever they had it, ill ask if they used the overhead lamp.

A custom background can be displayed behind the MP3 and radio controls. Does that answer your question, or are you thinking more like a computer screen saver which would be laid over the controls when the unit hasn't been touched lately?

Yes DVD+R disc's work just fine for movies, but to copy the nav disc you need a DL DVD. Also, divx disc's work great and fit the screen much better; however, you lose the menu controls.

Update: The loud buzzing noise is not coming from my speakers but rather from behind the dash. Really need some help on this one.

Its a 2004 Audi S4 with a D3.

When i am driving at night with my headlights on, I can hear a loud buzzing noise coming through the speakers, and the screen doesn't dim. Once i open a door the screen dims and the buzzing noise goes away. When i shut the door the screen gets bright again and the buzzing comes back. The unit is functioning correctly during day driving. Does this sound like tyhe illumination wire is loose, or do i have a short somewhere? any ideas? thanks in advance!

I didnt ask the installer, but i do believe it is an abs plastic. It matches the interior better than that camera phone pic shows.

My phone is voice dial capable but for somereason i have not been able to use this feature with my D3. The screen says its accessing the voice dial feature but never starts it. All help appreciated. TIA O yeah and im using the correct BT module with my head unit

Thanks for responding, my dash is rather difficult to take apart and audi is notorious for complicated wiring. Additionally, the install is all custom and not done with any kits, so i dont want to mess anything up.

I just got my car back from the audio shop. Got the Avic D3 installed in my audi, with BT, XM, XM navTraffic, Ipod cable. I had intructed the intalled to preform the bypass and even printed the instructions form this forum for him to follow. Well when i picked up my car the bypass was not working. I returned to the shop today and was told that the employee who did the install was not told to do the bypass. Now they are telling me it will take 2 hours to uninstall, bypass, and reinstall. Should i be askinf for this to be done for free? Because i certainly dont feel like i should be paying for a
