  1. I've tapped the rear dvd systems before, you can interface them with a lil work, usually you can get the video from the new unit to the rear flipdown, just not vice/versa. Then again, its been a while since I interfaced that particular flipdown.
  2. Keep in mind, you don't need the vss wire when using the avic units. I hardly ever use them and never have comebacks/complaints.
  3. I can only guess you are looking for the reverse wire? Far right bcm plug, three maybe four wire conn. lt.green wire, slightly bigger than the rest, or it is in the big loom under the truck that runs to the rear, as well as the rear lamps. If you have the compass mirror, you can usually find the green wire at the mirror or in the wiring in the pillar on the drivers side as well. Depending on what code you tripped, may need to have the dealer clear it, but try the neg term removal on the batt first.
  4. you can get the speed sense at one of the wheel speed sensors according to directechs. The sky I did didn't need a vss wire, so I didn't bother checkin it out for myself.
  5. You will lose out on the rear audio controls, and the factory xm tuner, you can interface the bose/onstar, steering wheel controls, and the rear overhead dvd system.
  6. You will need a double din mounting kit, and airsaw to make room(plastic removal necessary for clearance), and the gm lan adapter for power/chime and or onstar and bose. Pretty simple with the right parts, usually takes about an hour to do, given you have the correct parts. And yes, you can interface the rear entertainment, I'm not shure of the wires off hand, but its fairly simple for anyone that knows what they're doing.
  7. They do make the dash kit and the adapter for the audio/bose/rap system as well. Check with metra/scosche/best/aamp/perhiferal/soundgate/etc to see just who has the parts you need. Metra should have all, but not 100 % on the wire harness/adapter for the bose/rap, however, aamp/perhiferal/soungate I am almost certain make the adapter for that.
  8. **EDIT** Just realized how old this post is. I need to start reading the dates. Series the dual 2ohm for a 4 ohm load, and the parallel all down to a 1.33ohm load, given you have an amp that can run that. You'll be fine. I've mixed different impediance coils before. Given that they are the exact same brand/model, just different VC impediance, you'll be alright. If you want to get down to the technical nitty gritty, you shouldn't do it, however, I know I have without any ill effects. Ever woofer is different, so it will come down to a trial and error to see how it sounds. With some woofers,
  9. That's just how that unit is. Only by pressing the nav button on the bottom of the face plate is the only way into it. Oddly enough, it may be all in one, but it still operates the same way as the base double din with the navi add on.
  10. Looks lie the abs panel is held in by either strip cauk(dum dum-what installers call it), or silicone/pressure fit. You have a pretty easy audi. I wouldn't doubt that behind that panel, its either held in by a set of metal brackets, or a standard doubledin cage. If you wanna attempt doin the bypass yourself, you should be able to pull it off.
  11. What kind of car and where about in chicago you located. I'm in the suburbs. I can't say openly where I work, but can give you some more info privately. I've worked for both best buy and circuit in the past, and had a car published in last months car audio and electronics magazine. Lemme know. Alyn.
