  1. It's the Gracenote Data Base. The Gracenote database allows your Pioneer AVIC HDD Navigation unit to identify album, song, and artist names. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/vgn-ext-templating/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=2ee84a7402035110VgnVCM1000002567a8c0RCRD&vgnextchannel=54620c8a81ed4110VgnVCM1000002567a8c0RCRD When you go to the above link it will say "AVIC-Z1 and AVIC Z-2" but this was the link that I got from the AVIC-Z3 home page. So I guess they're all the same. The latest update for the CDDB is 08-01-0010. Once the HDD is installed, you just need to update it with the download
  2. I'm kind of joking, but kind of NOT joking when I say this. Present your problem to the 10 year old kid down the street and let them try to burn the disk. At least it would be done on a different computer, maybe the problem is with your computer.
  3. This is the web page for the Gracenote update. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... ase+Update I know it says "Z1+Z2" but I copied the link from the Z3 product home page. At the buttom of the web page is a section for common update errors. One of the items says: I hope that this helps.
  4. Limits for the albums is on page 113 of the Z-3 manual.
  5. Inferno999, could you please expand on the "shuts down after 30-60...." comment.
  6. I don't know if they are "behind" so much as Verizon deliberatly turns some features off so they can charge you more for it, like the ability to import ringtones. With Cingular/ATT, I use MobilPhoneTools on my computer and can transfer files all day long.
  7. I'm new here, so please pardon me if this is too obvious. The "smart routing" is a feature that you have to make sure is turned on, isn't it?
  8. I am probably the least qualified to answer this, but I'll try anyway. VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor It's found in many cars, but not all. It is usually a wire that carries a pulse signal that is generated from a device that is connected to the drive shaft or wheel. It produces an electronic pulse (or 2, or 3 or whatever) each time the drive shaft or tire goes around. This signal may be used in different systems in the car, from ABS, to the speedometer, to the speed compensating volume on the radio. For example, in a 2002 Ford F-350, if you simple hook up the VSS wire to a particul
  9. Thanks for that clarification. I would have been to the installer telling them to tap into the wheel speed sensor instead of adding one. I was at another site and they are talking about: Does this make any sense, hook up to a yellow wire that connects to the ECM??? But he was referring to a Solstice, not a Sky. I have a 2007 2.4L SKY with the manual transmisson.
  10. Could you give a few details. Were is the mic located. Volume settings? What speakers do you have the BT coming out of? Any thing else? Mine (Z-2) seems to produce a terrible echo that the other person hears.
  11. Saw this posted at another web sit: Can anyone confirm that they need to be installed in the correct order? I don't know a thing about this so a little back ground would be helpful. .
  12. Well, I'm NOT in the those cities at all. But I sure seem to have good maps in my car. What is on the maps in those cities that is not on the maps in the rest ot the U.S.?
  13. I went to Pioneer's web site and looked at the 2 disks that you buy for the update. If the pictures on the disk mean anything, the 2 disks clearly overlap in the center of the country.
