1. So are you saying that pulling the power on the Z1 is equivalent to a level 1 reset? If that's the case, then won't I lose everything in my music library (which is what I'm trying to avoid)? If its more like a level 3 reset (just losing basic Z1 info) then I'm fine with that. Would you recommend disconnecting the battery before doing the harness mod or could I just pull the Z1 and its connectors out?
2. Thanks for quick replies! So is a reset required at all? Can I just plug everything back in and turn on the car?
3. I'm planning to install the Bluetooth fix CD and then trying the Ducati Bluetooth bypass. If I unplug the AVIC from the car and remove the connectors, do I lose any information from the system (especially the music library)? Would I need to reset the unit once I plug everything back in?
4. Thanks for the tips Ducatiboy. So you're saying that if i were to wrap the parking sense wire to a metal bolt/screw or part of the frame, I'd be grounding it properly? Or would I need to connect it to the Z1's black wire? I think I remember reading somewhere that the wiring distance should be short so as not to cause too much resistance.
5. I guess if I can leave it in there without changing any wires, that would probably be best. I'm somewhat of a noob when it comes to electrical wiring and I'm nervous already as it is with having to pull out wires from the Z1 (after I install the Bluetooth fix CD). Ducatiboy, from the bypass instructions on your website, where would I find the green parking brake sense wire? Is this connected directly to the Z1? If so, where? When you say "ground the wire" could I just tape up the end with electrical tape and leave it hanging? Please excuse the noob questions - I had the Z1 professionally
6. I have a May '06 Z1 installed with Ducati's circuit. I'm looking at installing the Bluetooth fix CD, but I'd like to know if I need to do anything to the Ducati circuit. Do I need to remove it or can I leave it just the way it is?
7. I had a look at the image itself, it has the label: 061011_1530. This suggests that it was compiled by Pioneer on Oct. 11th, 2006 - which means that they've most likely decided to insert some code that disables Ducatiboy's flasher. This really sucks for anyone who bought the flasher (including me) and is looking for a fix for their "defective" Bluetooth unit.
8. Actually, the TTS (text-to-speech) engine that Pioneer uses is entirely software based.
9. Here's the install in my Scion tC (with headunit cover). Really liking the system so far...
10.

Yeah, I tried saying "Call" and then "Phonebook"...still no luck. Ducatiboy, I have your circuit installed, yet I've always had this issue with the voice command. Thanks for the input.
' it only works if your not in map mode.....try it when your in av mode, like on FM or AM, or the CD Library... I think it's a software problem... here's how it works on mine.... I'm in say FM mode, NOT MAP MODE... I say call.... and it comes back with something... I say 'Phone book' and it pops up the phone book. it'll only work
11. Yeah, I tried saying "Call" and then "Phonebook"...still no luck. Ducatiboy, I have your circuit installed, yet I've always had this issue with the voice command. Thanks for the input.
12. I've been trying to access the phonebook using the Z1's voice command, but it doesn't seem to work. Every time I say "Phonebook" or "Telephone Book" the system thinks for a second, then quits to the map screen. I'm able to access the phonebook by navigating the menus, just not through voice commands. Is this a bug in the software or am I doing something wrong?
13. I'll be getting my Z1 installed in a few days. Here's what I'll be installing: 1. iPod adapter 2. Bluetooth adapter 3. Ducati circuit 4. PAC (or similar) unit to keep steering wheel audio controls I'll be getting it professionally installed at a shop. Does anyone have recommendations/ideas/things to watch for before going through and starting the install?
14. Being a B&M store on the East Coast, 6th Ave should honor their promises to customers, whether they purchase in the store or online. They've obviously lied to enough people here about the Bluetooth adapters, so this makes them a dishonest business AND a bunch of losers to boot. skicrave - You make it sound like you've never shopped from an electronics retailer before. We're all glad to hear you had a good experience with Crutchfield, but the fact of the matter is, most of us here DIDN'T buy from them. DataAve - I completely agree with you and wish you luck with your complaint against
