  1. OK I got the East 90 to work on my AVIC-80DVD with touchscreen head unit, following your instructions. I used the original RARed straight files version, and copied over the missing 80 files. I only edited the TP APL and disc version lines in the DVI.DAT file, keeping all others. For the files that you recommended renaming, I just made copies with the new name, keeping the originals. Since the *.prg is the same as the 80 one, it did not of course update the NAV unit, so I guess it's safe to try this anyway if you are going from the current 80. I've tested plotting routes, returning ho
  2. Now the million dollar question is whether the older units are no longer going to be supported going forward, or whether they just decided to skip an update for these this year.
  3. I'm not sure that there's a torrent of a compressed ISO. You might as well start a download of the uncompressed ISO, and use ISO buster to extract all the files to use in the slipstremaming process with the CNDV-80MT. Just so you know, some people had success with the straight files version, and the byte count of that one did match the byte count of the ISO version. Also, I will compare both versions tonight, looking for file instances, not just byte matching.
  4. i just visited the site i have a avic-80 and 90 there is no mention of this working on these units= Upgrade for the DVD Touch Panel Navigation Systems Compatible with (AVIC-N5, AVIC-N4, AVIC-N3, AVIC-N2, AVIC-N1, AVIC-D3, AVIC- D2, AVIC-D1) when used with Pioneer Touch Panel Display only. I too hav
  5. Can you set your folder options to show hidden files AND turn off hide protected system files, then re-do a byte count? Also, sometimes the manufacturers include zero byte files to stymie copying - they will not copy over, but will do so if the disc is extracted to an ISO - found this to be true with the older CNDV-50MT way back when. THIS IS THE SIZE ON DISK WITH HIDDEN FILES TURNED OFF AND PROTECTED SYSTEM FILES TURNED OFF BOTH THE SAME 7.55 GB (8,114,246,275 bytes) OK thanks SWDW. We'll that's exactly what I have with the un-RARed files from the original East. I still say the

  7. bjamerican is totally correct - and the original torrent, including all the seeders, should be pulled to avoid anyone else burning non-working/non-fully working/damaging copies. To reiterate: The extraction from the original should be an ISO - burning an ISO from straight copied files will not work.
  8. OK that makes two of us - burning goes fine, NAV unit cannot use the completed disc and errors out. Were you trying to use an East or West? Last year my 08 went fine as well. The difference between last year's 80MT, is that it was zipped, and it unzipped to an ISO. This year, the RAR extracts to straight files. Just my $0.02.
  9. Pulled down East 1.) Extracted RAR to disk, went fine. 2.) Using PowerISO, burned files from hard disk to DVD with verify, went fine. Did not use burn files to ISO, then burn ISO to DVD option. 3.) Disc boots into NAV, checks disk, displays Pioneer splash screen, then I get a "this is not the correct disk" type error. Have older AVIC-88 unit. Awaiting results for successful use (not just burn) from other people. Will continue seeding East later on this afternoon.
  10. Many thanks to GnatGoSplat - I ended up purchasing the service manual for the head unit (AVD-W6210) for $7 and recalibrated the screen. That being said, if you need to recalibrate the LCD for this head unit , pm for instructions or I can e-mail you the service manual for this LCD - to get into it you need to press the NAVI/MENU and VOL- buttons simultaneously (you will need a working steering wheel remote to run the menu when entered), and then follow some instructions. Also, with the AVIC-9 service manual, I plan to get a avic-9 remote to gain entry to the NAV unit service menu, to foll
  11. Shawn, I am using the navigation remote, which operates via the LCD. There is no other remote that comes with it. The NAV remote does not have many functions, and lacks numerical buttons. Here is the parts menu, which doesn't show anything else. Look at what my remote looks like: http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/mod ... =AVIC80DVD However, at looking at the parts for the AVIC9 & AVIC90, it does show a totally different remote. I guess the 9 & 90 come with advanced remote, and the 80 & 88 don't. Originally I posted this for you thinking your AVIC9 was exactly th
  12. GnatGoSplat: Sorry for inserting myself into this thread (need to recalibrate the LCD screen actually, but I'm trying to track down the proper instructions to get further into the service menu for a AVIC80-DVD, and then follow the calibration instructions from another few threads. I can get into the service screen using the reset/eject buttons, but cannot type or continue using the LCD screen and buttons, or remote, or any buttons on the head unit (not any besides the eject & reset). The only button that works on the screen/remote is the NAV button which seems to be the "enter" on
