  1. Well, one day into using this update and and my wanderlust for 8.3 is waxing and waning all over the place. The problems and/or issues I have come across thus far are: I still have the same issues with playlists not playing any longer Music will not play sometimes at all unless I turn the car off and on (Unplugging/plugging the phone in does not seem to help I set the brightness/contrast levels back to their center points and I cannot see any of the album art (I have gotten used to not seeing it though, but I do miss it) When the soft Home button is pressed on the HU, it flashes a bright
  2. My sentiments exactly. I only turn on BT when, for whatever reason the HU will not find my phone, which hasn't happened much in the last couple months. The quality is atrocious though so I was hoping that they were not planning on using BT for the Wireless CarPlay connection. I have had this happen to me on my setup as well (6000NEX & iPhone 6, formerly iPhone 5), but only twice. Usually restarting the phone takes care of it though, and this was right after the initial CarPlay Firmware release by Pioneer. I think that my problem, all around, is I can never really say with a
  3. I have the 6000NEX and a 16gb iPhone 6 now on 8.3. I hadn't read anything about the update until someone sent me a link saying that 8.3 would connect to CarPlay wirelessly. I flipped Bluetooth back on (I had it disabled since I never use it in the car any longer so why waste the battery you know?) and of course, no luck getting connected that way. Once I did plug in the phone I was prompted whether I would like to "Allow CarPlay While Locked" (Which can also be found in General > CarPlay > Car Navigation). The nice thing, for me anyway, was iTunes music started playing right
  4. So I will freely admit that I do not always possess optimal intelligence. One of the reasons I was unable to get music to play is I downgraded this phone from a 64 GB iPhone to the 16 GB iPhone 6. Because of this I started using iTunes Match. Apparently there is an option that is tuned off by default to not use Cellular for iTunes Match (Among other services). This was why I was unable to play music from the Music.app but I was able to from Spotify. I can at least check that one off of the list!
  5. So far I am personally really impressed with the overall usability of CarPlay. I have the 6000 NEX with an iPhone 6 running 8.0.2. Some positives right off: Navigation:Starting navigation prior to getting into the car The color scheme of the maps is far more pleasing than the stock options on the head unit (Again, totally my personal preference) Ability to disable voice guidance prompts without navigating menus - There is a Speaker button on the top right of the map, tap once to disable audio, tap again to enable Siri IntegrationMessage read back has been nice (But then I haven't had an
  6. I had 11 minutes left to go when the download bombed. I attempted to resume but the download started from the beginning again. Looks like another 2 hours to go, at least.
  7. Here is a link to the two instruction PDF files from Pioneer. I hope that this helps...s https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x6gusbk9surb82q/AACiQCgrZ1zawDxN4b1vj2vja?dl=0
  8. I have been painstakingly trying to download the 5000, 6000, 7000 firmware for the last two hours now. If it ever does complete, I will at the very least upload it to a torrent site which should help much better than a simple FTP server. Thanks to all of the feedback from all of you that have managed to get this downloaded and installed already. I know that we have all been itching to get our hands on this for quite some time.
