Well, one day into using this update and and my wanderlust for 8.3 is waxing and waning all over the place. My sentiments exactly. I only turn on BT when, for whatever reason the HU will not find my phone, which hasn't happened much in the last couple months. The quality is atrocious though so I was hoping that they were not planning on using BT for the Wireless CarPlay connection. I have the 6000NEX and a 16gb iPhone 6 now on 8.3. I hadn't read anything about the update until someone sent me a link saying that 8.3 would connect to CarPlay wirelessly. I flipped Bluetooth back on (I had it disabled since I never use it in the car any longer so why waste the battery you know?) and of course, no luck getting connected that way. Once I did plug in the phone I was prompted whether I would like to "Allow CarPlay While Locked" (Which can also be found in General > CarPlay > Car Navigation). So I will freely admit that I do not always possess optimal intelligence. One of the reasons I was unable to get music to play is I downgraded this phone from a 64 GB iPhone to the 16 GB iPhone 6. Because of this I started using iTunes Match. Apparently there is an option that is tuned off by default to not use Cellular for iTunes Match (Among other services). This was why I was unable to play music from the Music.app but I was able to from Spotify. I can at least check that one off of the list!

So far I am personally really impressed with the overall usability of CarPlay. I have the 6000 NEX with an iPhone 6 running 8.0.2. I have been painstakingly trying to download the 5000, 6000, 7000 firmware for the last two hours now. If it ever does complete, I will at the very least upload it to a torrent site which should help much better than a simple FTP server. Thanks to all of the feedback from all of you that have managed to get this downloaded and installed already. I know that we have all been itching to get our hands on this for quite some time.
