I'm glad you post this warning over and over. What Condi did was a help for people interested and Capable of exploring the internals the Pioneer units, but many people come to this site with just enough smarts to be dangerous and that hack exponentially increases the dangerous part and does need to be moderated with a warning. The testmode key does everything you need and there is no reason for that hack to exist any longer.

try post #2 first. if that doesn't work, maybe post #1 will be of help: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/36854-undo-condis-hack-mode/

Test Mode Fails to load on the AVIC-X8510BT is there a version I should be using to help with getting to the Pass word? We bought this unit second hand and during a trip to the Garage for repair it came back asking for a password...
Any help would be appreciated.

here's the link for supertestmode, I don't know if it works for x8510 but try it instead of the condi hack: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35253-advanced-puzzles-testmodekey-scriptexecini/&do=findComment&comment=255788
then try these password recovery instructions using the supertestmode instead of the condi hack: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32929-x930bt-password-recovery/&do=findComment&comment=240249

First I want to say hello and thanks for letting me in !
I'm new to the AVIC X930BT as I just installed it and I noticed its really out of date ( vr 3.01 or something like that) anyway I was reading a few post and seen you can update to 2013 or 2014 maps and a version 5.0 if this is correct and someone would be willing to walk me along step by step as if I was 4 that would be great as im not sure what carinfo.zip and all that stuff is. but I can somewhat use a cpu and have all the tools needed just don't know how or what to download, zip, unzip, rezip, file, stich, glue, paste or just say piss on it lol... also if someone can help and it is successful I would be more then happy to donate a few $$ to your paypal account as gratitude.. thanks again..
Here's the link to get you from v3 go v5 but it's only 2013 maps. I haven't seen anything for 2014 maps. Detailed instructions are in the first post: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38472-2013-usacan-maps-download/
Deep into the thread there are instructions for v5.1 but the fixes were only related to iPhone 5 bugs, so you may not care about v5.1.

can someone call me and teach me how to use this program?
bkzchase@aim.com email me if u can
Consider that there is an entire thread on how to undo the damage done by this program... and then consider not using it. You risk turning your unit into a worthless brick. There are other ways to do the things you want without installing this program.

I upgraded my X930-BT to version 4 using the "super easy" method outlined here http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-to-supereasymethod-beta/page-21&do=findComment&comment=259388
The upgrade went smoothly, although the system information screen does not look exactly like the one posted in the article, my unit only displays the version number.
I have now noticed that after pairing my Iphone 6 device, the Received Calls icon on the phone screen is greyed out.
Has anyone else seen this?
As well, the unit and my phone don't seem to be syncing contact info - the dialed calls display only the phone number and not the contact names.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Try this update to v5 and 2013 maps: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38472-2013-usacan-maps-download/

Read post #151 in that thread and then do the instructions in post #1

I HAVE TRIED CONTACTING THE SELLER WITH NO LUCK.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS ERROR MESSAGE UPON INSTALLATION.
REQUESTING A PERSONAL CODE.
ANY HELP APPRECIATED.
You need to put the unit into test mode, go to the file manager and do a text dump on this file:
\user\system\security\password
That will give you the password you need. Here's a thread about it.
http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32929-x930bt-password-recovery/
WAIT! Do NOT use the Condi Hackmode files described in that link for instruction 1b.
Instead use supertestmode.zip from this link: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35253-advanced-puzzles-testmodekey-scriptexecini/&do=findComment&comment=255788
The Condi stuff has bricked many a system if not used carefully.
Also, I posted in the password recovery thread not to use the link in instruction 1b. See my post in that thread, #151 http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32929-x930bt-password-recovery/?p=280379

I apologize, I have read though a majority of the posts and can't find the answer. My wife got her battery replaced and her stereo asked for a password. I purchased it new and installed if a couple years ago but regular passwords are not working. I followed the instructions in this post but when I try to unzip the file it asks for a password for Av.exe and I typed in avic411 which worked. I then am prompted for a password for HACKMODE.KEY. What is the password for HACKMODE.KEY?

I cant find them. I cant even find the 2013 to update to...

Not sure about the z series, but my x series didn't auto update the USB firmware. I needed to navigate to the settings screen and select USB and there was a selection button for update.
-
I updated my x930bt to x940bt firmware. now I am wondering which CARDINFO.zip I use for the map update in misterwoofwoof's post. Do I use the one for the 930bt or 940bt. Thanks in advance!
It doesn't hurt or damage anything to try one and then the other if one doesn't work, but it may overwrite the x940bt update... not positive on that.
-
delete prg.flg in user folder. that has helped some people.
-
you are posting in the F series forum but you have an X series Avic.
I'm not sure what you mean by "unlock". Is it a password thing? Is it just not working? The link I gave above will "unlock" it to developer mode.
If you are trying to load other gps software onto your x930bt then re-read the first post again. It says you can load the new software but the gps part doesn't work. Seems like a deal breaker to me.
This condi hackmode is just a way to put the avic into a development/test mode. It never accomplished its goal. It doesn't work.
-
Well, I advise against using this file as there are several threads on how to recover from using this... but if you insist, the password is in the first post: avic411
What are you trying to accomplish? If you want to look at the file system or something use this file instead: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35253-advanced-puzzles-testmodekey-scriptexecini/&do=findComment&comment=255788

do not use any version of condihack, you just don't need it anymore. sorry I mentioned it at all. I was just seeing if you had accidentally used it.
your original post says you have X930BT. now you say you have issues with 920. I don't know anything about the 920, sorry.
my versions after the 2013 update are 5.0 and 3.32 for bluetooth
-
maybe see if the 2013 blue tooth and map update helps? http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38472-2013-usacan-maps-download/
I doubt the map update did anything but that x940 one might have... or if you used the wrong version of the condihack(or any version).
-
Just guessing, but you might need to have the parking brake on, to enable the screen.
EDIT: ha! Lyverbe beat me by one minute!
-
if you are following the instructions in the first post of this thread, stop.
replace the link for instruction 1b. with this link: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35253-advanced-puzzles-testmodekey-scriptexecini/&do=findComment&comment=255788
put the testmode.key file from the supertestmode.zip file onto the empty sd card.
then follow the remaining steps a, b, c

Too bad rope didn't follow up on his work here. I would like to change some of the icons.
-
it appears that somebody has made other navigation software work with gps working but it does not involve the condihack. It costs $50 though, see: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/36236-x930bt-runs-alternative-navigation/&do=findComment&comment=264043
-
From my reading, the condi hack allows you to install other navigation software than the default for your unit. The other navigation software will run, but will not connect with the gps so is basically useless.
The best you can do at this point is this thread: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38472-2013-usacan-maps-download/

The bluetooth upgrade doesn't happen with the map update, you have to go into the menu system to the bluetooth page and select upgrade from there.
Formatting the the sandisk is a little tricky sometimes. Read this post: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38472-2013-usacan-maps-download/?p=280328
