  1. This is what Kevin Massy wrote in hist CNET rewiew of the D3: En route to the required destination, the Avic-D3 uses turn-by-turn voice prompts (including text-to-voice functionality) to call out turns and the names of individual roads. I have a D3 and it does not call out the name of the individual roads. It just says left and right. What is going on???????
  2. Go www.g35driver.com They have a lot of information on this topic
  3. Beside the D3 you will need a radio harness designed for your xB. Also, if you want to keep the steering will control you'll need to purchase a PAC-SWI-PS (P=Pioneer and S=Sony) from PAC-AUDIO.COM. Good lucks
  4. I just installed my last Sunday. The plug position should be at bottom center of the D3 (on the back). I can't recall what it said but that's the location.
  5. Yes, I keep the Bose premium. I just got rid of the factory CD changer and the radio.
  6. I did it. It took me most the day to do but everything work including video bypass except for the clock light bulbs (This is a common problem but I found it out after the installation. I recommend that you unplug the clock unit during installation to avoid this problem). Here is a list of hardware needed: 1. Pioneer AVIC-D3 (Nav/Dvd,etc) 2. PAC-SWIPS (For power steering control) 3. Metra dash kit 90-7604 4. Metra radio harness 70-7551 The Metra dash kit looks pretty good. Even the buttons are not as bad as people think. The most difficult thing for me was to squeeze all the w
  7. I'm lost. I connected the basic wires (red/yellow/black) from the D3 to the 70-7551 wiring harness. The harnesses have 2 pair of RCA for front and rear speakers. Questions: 1. Am I to connect the D3 RCA to the radion harness? 2. What do I connec the Blue/White (Amp turn on) and Black/White(Amp ground) from the harness to? 3. Also, can I connect the D3 ground (black) to the radio harness ground instead of the vehicle metal body? Thanks....

  9. I'm thinking about doing video bypass on my Avic-d3 but I'm a little concern about the law. Did anyone here got in trouble with the law? Can you share your experience? Thanks
  10. Congrats: I'm waiting for my to arrive. I'll do the install myself also. Any tips or advises? Did you have to install the PAC-SWIPS? Ryan
