  1. I just upgraded my Z2 to a Z3 and so far everything works fine. just downloaded from the FTP site and used Acronis to do everything else. I haven't tried the voice command but hopefully everything will work fine. Thanks for the great support guys, this site is amazing... Cheers...
  2. Hi Spezza, I got your e-mail late last night as I was updating my Z1 to a Z2 :) Works great by the way. I didn't have time to respond last night, sorry. Can you please resend me the e-mail as I have all the files you need at my work and not at home. I will send the files today when i get your message again. thanks, Soundfx
  3. well in theory, if you can get your friends HD3 and remove and unlock the HDD without erasing the data, then you can clone the image and put it into your own new drive. and just install it into the new avic. But since I have never seen your HD3 version, it's just a theory. If you want to play around with it, go for it... and let us know how you did. Cheers from Canada :)
  4. Just did the update with the help of Mr. Mazdaspeed!!! Thanks by the way... and everything works fine, used a new Toshiba MK6034GAX drive and put the z2 image using acronis true image 10. When you first install the drive, the unit will go through a update procedure that takes approx. 5 min and then the unit started to work right away... my only problem is that for some reason, the updated maps actually don't show my home address, the previous z1 maps that was previously installed showed my street but the new updated z2 maps, did not??? weird but I don't care, since i never use the "go home" f
  5. Pretty simple really, you will have to remove your dash where the odometer is however... I can send you the schematic via e-mial. I have a paypal account and also you can do an e-mail payment if you prefer. E-mail me at soundfx@rogers.com and I will send you all of the details.
  6. I can get you the Double Din for your 2003 Nissan Altima, the kit is made from Metra, part no. 95-7418 and I can also send you the wiring schematic for your car. Where do you live? if you are in the GTA area, we can meet up and i can give you the information and mounting kit in person. The kit is approx. $15.00 if you want it. let me know, soundfx 2003 Altima Kit - 95-7418.pdf
  7. Awesome then... I guess you don't have any problems with the faster RPM drive and the cold weather? You are using the MK6034GAX right?
  8. Hey Mazdaspeed, I found the Toshiba MK6034GAX at Tigerdirect.ca for only $73.99 CAD if you are interested. I am thinking of buying this drive myself and loading the Z2 image. here is the link: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/ ... etailspecs any ways, good luck with the upgrade. later, Soundfx
  9. [quote name="jbhorne"]I have compared the original Z1/Z2 hard drive (MK3029GACE) to the replacement that I and a few others are using (MK6034GAX). The original drive is an "automotive" drive. From the specs, this means that it has a higher temperature rating, both operational and non-operational. Although this is only a "tested rating", it does concern me as the original drive is capable of operating between 3.2-150*F and the replacement 41-131*F. Non-operating, -40-176*F and -4-140*F respectively. Being in a VERY hot climate that I am, it is not uncommon for vehicle interior temperatures t
  10. Sorry Hyperite, I was just a little confused and I asked others what they thought. sorry for the confusion but I got it working and wanted to thank you guys for helping me out.
  11. GOT IT WORKING!!!! :) I just wanted to thank Ducatiboy for his website and give me the proper instructions. I had the older version and all I did was just install the blutooth update CD that is available on his site: http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html once I installed this update, I did the 2-wire grounding and Voila!!! all working great. Thanks for all the tech support, this site is amazing. Now all I have to do is try my bluetooth paired phone and see if the echo is gone thanks guys.
  12. I have a blackberry curve and I had no problems pairing it with my Z2, (my Z2 has the 1.00000 version so it's the same as a Z1). Just remember to change the bluetooth password on the Z1 before pairing. once I had manually changed the password, it paired up no problem. I even managed to send my address book from my curve to my Z2 and all works great. Good luck.

  14. I looked at the version and it does say 01.000 but the unit is a Z2. I guess it has the old software in it. I assume then I have to update the software with the lates 0.2.000 software to upgrade it? All i want to do is bypass the driving lockout. I just want to watch my DVD's while driving. Do I have to do all of this updating to watch my DVD while driving? can I just follow another procedure to watch my DVD? if anyone has some input, let me know. thanks
  15. I looked through the entire site and can't find any info on my particular problem. I downloaded the ISO file posted by Hyperite and burned it on a disc, this part works fine. I did the 2-wire grounding and that is fine. I inserted the update disc and I press Map. The unit reads the CD and then asks me to update? I click YES and then while reading the CD for about 1 min, the unit asks me for a "Pioneer Password" to continue with update, it give me a "YES", "No",& "CANCEL" button. I clicked on YES and it asks for a long password, then i tried the NO, then it shows me a DeviceID # and a
