Is there a way to set the mic volume to default to 3 lights? Mine reverts to 2 lights.

This is how my microphone is set up. It is kind of hard to see but it is clipped on the A-Pillar at an angle pointed to the driver. I am having far from a positive response from people on the other line. Are there any problems with how the mic is installed？

Can anyone recommend a reliable lightning extension cable to work with the 5s. I am using the Lightning to DV Adapter. I did a search and found that the iMod cable might not work with the 5s. Another cable I am considering is the Dockxtender from cablejive. Thanks.

Almost everyone I've called complained about the microphone quality, going as far as saying it is worse than my iPhone's speakerphone quality. This even occurs when I have the car off and parked. I'm using the included mic and have it mounted on the a-pillar. I sound like I'm under water apparently. I'm really frustrated about this. Could it be possible I have a defective mic? 2000 Impreza RS with 8000nex. Thanks.
