  1. Yes, please, if you can. The Pioneer site is MIA right now.
  2. Yeah, I'm trying to download it here at work and the download failed 50% into it. Guess I should have figured this wouldn't be easy.... Can anyone post the files for the 4000?
  3. Do you mean 0% in downloading the update, or in actually upgrading the firmware on your unit?
  4. For people who are using it, when you play music, does it show the album art in the background?
  5. Aargh! I have to wait until I'm home from work to install it! I'm so looking forward to this. Can't wait to see what it can really do.
  6. The truth is, no one knows anything at this point except Apple and Pioneer--and Pioneer certainly a isn't saying anything. 162 comments on their most recent Facebook post and not a single response from the company. They're alienating their customers right and left, and they're too afraid to say a word.
  7. I actually do wonder why they took it down. Appradioworld isn't affiliated with Pioneer at all. Maybe they got some info that wasn't accurate?
  8. Yeah, good luck selling even one unit until they can actually deliver CarPlay.
  9. I just looked and Pioneer has taken all mention of CarPlay off the main page of their website. But, if you look up the individual NEX units, they all still say "CarPlay coming Summer 2014." Nice.
  10. Whether that means Pioneer can get its act together or not is anyone's guess: http://www.cultofmac.com/297361/carplay-still-track-arrive-2014/
  11. I'm not sure I believe the "out of our hands" part. Sounds to me like Pioneer is trying to shift the blame. Most likely (and this is just my opinion), Pioneer keeps submitting a flawed update and Apple keeps telling them to go back and fix what isn't working. Then, Pioneer cries, "Apple won't let us release it!"
  12. According to a tweet by Pioneer UK, they insist that there's only "fine tuning" left to do, and it will come out soon. Of course, who believes anything that Pioneer says?
  13. I can guarantee you that, even if CarPlay comes out tomorrow, this is the last Pioneer product I will ever buy. I don't know if this company is arrogant, incompetent, or both, but their utter disregard for and lack of communication with their customers tells me I need to look elsewhere for my equipment. All this time, all the missed deadlines, and not one statement from the company? Clearly, their attitude is that they already have our money, so there's really no need to deal with us further.
  14. Pioneer's Europe website now says, "firmware update coming AUTUMN 2014." So, Pioneer screws us after all. http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/landing/products/carplay.html
  15. Absolutely correct. When will Pioneer actually say something? Their disregard for their customers is outrageous.
  16. More likely, Pioneer is working feverishly, night and day, on writing the announcement that CarPlay will be delayed until 2015.
  17. Because 1) I bought a new phone, so it wasn't really an option not to have IOS 8, and 2) Pioneer had FIVE beta versions to test their software on, and apparently chose not to. Also, why should anyone let Pioneer dictate their equipment and/or software decisions? It's Pioneer's responsibility to keep current when they've had every opportunity to do so.
  18. This was just posted to the Pioneer Facebook page a little while ago: Important Notice for AppRadio Mode Users Dear Valued Customer, For AppRadio users and users of Pioneer DVD receiver and navigation receiver models with AppRadio Mode, Pioneer has completed its compatibility evaluation of iOS 8 with AppRadio Mode. Please see below for important information: iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s and iPod touch (5th generation) users: The following AppRadio Mode applications are currently not compatible with iOS 8 due to a stability issue that results when using the in-a
  19. Give Pioneer time....there are still five whole days of summer left.
  20. This doesn't seem like anything we haven't already heard, though. We all knew that the major automakers were pushing back to late 2014 or early 2015. Just another writer without any new information to offer. Now, if the article had mentioned Pioneer, then I would be concerned.
  21. Yeah, I figured it was just a writer guessing without any facts. I just didn't like seeing those words in print lol.
  22. Just saw this blurb on Cnet.com. What stood out to me in particular was the following line: "CarPlay will become available by the end of 2014 in select aftermarket Pioneer stereo head units." By the end of 2014? Uh oh....I hope that's just a guess on their parts and not a sign of things to come. http://www.cnet.com/pictures/fall-tech-preview-car-tech/
  23. Two weeks from now and it officially won't be Summer 2014 anymore.
  24. I'd like to see what the Alpine unit will have (if anything) in terms of manageable audio settings such as time alignment and EQ. Despite all the flaws of the App mode on my NEX4000, I do very much enjoy the sound quality I'm able to achieve with those settings.
