  1. I got mine off of eBay. I searched by putting in my car model (Audi A3 which had an odd-ball plug, so the booster was also an adapter, which was tough to find). Oh, and the AVIC Z series unites use standard American style plug for the back of the radio. Strange, I just checked eBay, and no antenna boosters came up for the 350z. Definitely check with a local car stereo shop for this item.
  2. As a solution in the mean time, do you know if there is a way to undo the GraceNote update? I will be ordering the HD soon, but it will be about a month, since I have a 10 day vacation coming up and I need the funds to pay for that. Thanks, Todd
  3. Anyone ever have this happen? It seems to happen on a warm day, usually. I also lost my AV Input selection too. I have the new iPod AV adapter plugged into that input. Maybe the adapter went bad, and is causing a short or something? I reset the device, but no difference. I have had the AVIC Z2 for 10 months now, and the P brake bypass performed since it was new. The only thing I had done somewhat recently, was the Gracenote update. If that could be the cause, how can I go back to the old version? I am also thinking of buying the Z3 HD from Garrettoomy, and I wonder i

Will this work in the AVIC-Z2? When I went to download it, I noticed htat it said Z1 catagory. Thanks!
  5. No problems here. I make sure the state and city/town are entered in first, then I search. I do like the Vicinity search too. I even use the phone search, which is freakin cool, but scarey at teh same time, since it does not confirm an address; it just takes you to the location. For example, I entered in my parents phone number (now they have that number and have been at that location for over 25 years), and it took me right to them. I used it for a few retail stores, and it worked flawlessly. It did not find a match for a car stereo shop that I had to go to (neither the name or
  6. This is what I have, and I installed the AVIC-Z2. I am still getting the proper wires to hook up the VSS, and the correct wire for the auto dimming on the Z2. It was a real pain to get into place, and you might consider the single din stereo option. The wiring is not being used off of the factory harness, since Audi uses CanBus networking; there is no traditional voltage wiring to tell the radio that, for example, the car is on or the lights are on. I am having a stereo shop order the cage for the Z2 (to mount it securely), and they will finish the install, which consists of getting
  7. What about the 2006 A3? I could not find any info about it.
  8. I like the way it looks when I have the Pioneer "boot up" logo on the top of the screen; it looks like it is supposed to be there. I have the Z2 by the way. If you need a different aspect ratio, just let me know, and I will adjust it to fit.
  9. One S4 background coming right up!
  10. Here's your Jessica Alba background! Let me know if you want it any different.
  11. Yup! I had it in the wrong hole!!! (That's what my wife always says!) It is working beautifully now! However, I think the labeling is confusing, since I would think the "in" would be where the signal is coming from, not to. Just my 2 cents.
  12. Oh, as for the wiring, I had a friend help with this, since many wires are not used. My Audi uses CANbus for the car's communication with the radio. Therefore, I had to find wires in the fuse box to make the proper connections. Like, the power on and off with the ignition, and the VSS, which is the blue wire with a white strip coming out of the ABS harness in the left kick panel. I think I have to rig a switch so I can listen/watch the AVIC while the car is off, since my car has no acc switch; yours may be the same.
  13. You'll need an amplified antenna, but there are two different types. There is the small plug, and the large plug (around 1/2 inch dia.) I have an early release 2006 A3, and it was the large adapter. I think the new cars have the smaller plug. I went to my local stereo shop for it, since I had no luck getting it on eBay. Remember, it needs to be amplified.
  14. I have the Z2 with a Nano and no sound either, but I plugged in my wife's 60GB 5th Gen iPod, and no sound either; you can see the song is playing, and can change songs, but no sound. I have the PIONEER CD-IB100 II iPod adapter. Is that the cause; is there a setting for sound on the Z2 or iPod I have to change? I appreciate any input. Thanks!
