AVICSYNC and CARPLAY are two different things all together. Tbh when your cell phone is connected you will see the avicsync icon to the lower right it's the car with arrows pointing to and from it. AVICSYNC will basically complete your navigation features as well as offer additions POI's, weather, map updates etc for a small fee. CARPLAY will allow Iphone owners to have CONNECTED hands free calling, maps etc with the same icons and layout as their phones. I heard through the grapevine and it's a pretty reliable grapevine - That Avicsync is on hold due to the App Developers withdrawing from the project cause they were having too many problems with it. Also I did some deep searching and found a Logo for AVICSYNC2 I haven't heard anything about it. But the logo is out there. I was told that the upcoming firmware update will be for Apple Car Play only. Avicsync is on the back burner.
