I just wanted to say that I have worked with Garret twice now, once for my original Z2/Z3 upgrade and now with the Z3 maps upgrade. All I can say is I wish other businesses worked as well as Garret does. He confirmed he received my shipment within minutes of FedEx reporting they had dropped it off. He then completed the work within an hour and had it sent out shortly there after with another confirmation email. He is the best, quickest and easiest to work with period. I was able to find a new Z3 on the web for $999 from a retailer. So you can do better. Search www.froogle.com. For a Z2 I would search Craigslist for a used one and upgrade. I just found one myself for $650 with Blue tooth. A real steal and he was local. I upgraded to Z3 and I love it. I don't know the 8120, but my wife has the 7100, which I can't stand it. The Navigation sucks, looks like DOS maps, the menuing is the least user friendly I have ever seen and XM shares the nav antenna, so you have to go through the Nav screens to get to XM. Dude, what a concept!!! I just got an upgraded Z2 and love it. I use my Archos MP3 player and was thinking about getting an Ipod to hook up, but I love your idea! The Archos has video out and a remote. I I can do exactly like you describe and just controll it without having to look down at the Archos. Once I get it set up I will upload pics as well! So I know they mention the VSS wire having to do with the Nav ability to truly determine how you are traveling etc. So my question is, how to I confirm they have installed the VSS and Dimmer wires? I trust them, but I just want to make sure, since these are important and I am paying for them. Thanks

"Sounds about right, be sure to ask about the dimmer wire, vss wire and if they are willing to do the bypass." I know they mentioned the dimmer wire and VSS wire. Are these related to the bypass? Also, I just recieved my Z3 updated drive. Is the bypass possible via hack? I got it from Toomey from this board. Thanks for all the input.

It is a Hyundia Azera. The steering column has controls, so the $450 includes the module to continue to use them.

Just wanted to get input on some charges I was quoted to install: Z2, XM and BT and steering wheel kit to use my existing controlls. With the car kit they are quoting $450. Does this sound in the ball park? Thanks

Thanks for the input. I don't use an Ipod (believe it or not ). So I was wondering if I already have things tagged in my PC I would just transfer them via my MP3 player, which gets passed the Gracenote issue, no? Thanks for letting me know about the Bluetooth issue. I will check to see if my phone will work 1st.

I made a mistake in the post. I didn't mean the Z3. I meant the Z2. I guess I am just asking how do folks like it? Has the new software made a difference? I have read about hard drive crashes when the car gets to hot, to the screen goes blank when you start to drive. I was hoping for more positive responses from users across the net, but the feedback is very very mixed. In comparison, I really dislike the interface of the Kenwood 7100, but beyond that, users seem to love it. I am also considering pairing the Alpine W205 with their new removable Nav the Blackbird 2.
