Just a dumb question possibly, but is it possible the Bluetooth chips are different generations i.e. Bluetooth 3.1 vs 4.0? Could that be the reason that it is not initializing with the update? I am also guessing that Pioneer has made it so the units cannot be updated with full functionality to "force" consumers to continue purchasing product...
