  1. Where are ya from? Pioneer isn't too far from me here in So. Cal.
  2. Nice! Are the 3-D graphics that much better? Did you guys try and use the voice recognition with the music files (i.e ipod playlists, am/fm, etc.)? I can get a Z3 on ebay for $1300 right now. I'm thinking I might just do that. If the bypass holds and everything. All the peripherals should work with the Z3 too, right? I mean the back of the unit looks identical to the Z2.
  3. Well I have AAA, and they were dancing around the fact that it's an "after market" stereo and that it may not be covered! I was like BULLS***!!! Over 9 years of coverage with them and not one single claim! They had better cover it. I pay over $3k/yr for all my cars, boat and rv's with them. Figure I've paid them more than $40k in premiums and they can't cover me for $2k. Please. What a bunch of crap! Good ideas on the disguising. I think that just with a good/great alarm, I should be ok. What a horrible pissed off feeling though.
  4. I'm patiently waiting to see if the bypass works the same on the Z3 before I replace my stolen unit. I have to wait on the claims team at AAA anyway. I sure miss my z2 and it's only been gone since sometime this morning.
  5. Yeah it sucks, and I am ticked, but I should have put an alarm on my truck. THe Avic Z2's on ebay are less expensive now than when I bought mine. Can't have anything nice without some A-HOLE trying to take it from you. THanks for the link. The cable pricing is ridiculous from Pioneer. WOW! Might as well replace the periphs for that cost.
  6. Well guys, my F-350 was broken into last night and my prized Z2 was taken. I've only had it since Ocotber and I loved having it. They popped the driver door lock to get in and absolutely ripped the thing out. I had XM/Traffic, Bluetooth, and the iPod adapter, all of which they left behind. But of course damaged all the cables. They left all my amps and subs/speakers and just took the unit. Very amateur, because they probably did more damage to the unit by forcing it out. They left behind a large screwdriver with a plastic handle so I can only hope the police can lift prints to put a face on th
  7. After much frustration I finally figured out the problem! The flippin' semi-tard installer (ADVANCED CAR STEREO) had my RCA "inputs" into the deck hooked up to what should have been the Front RCA "output". It was such an obvious thing, especially for a "professional" installer, that it was the last thing I would have looked for. I have successfully installed many sound systems in my day that have worked flawlessly for years, and with this type of technology, I thought I'd let a qualified person do it. Well, guess I was wrong. I am gonna call over there and demand a partial refund for the insta
  8. I am going to pull the deck. I have amps hooked up. The front rca's are being used for my front speakers running through the amp. Do I now have to run a seperate speaker for voice? It's getting narrowed down. I have a feeling I'll resolve it today.
  9. Well crud! The voice recognition works. I have noticed that it's not just my phone I cannot hear but the guide voice too! I have checked and double checked the settings and volume controls. Everything is set up according to the instructions and troubleshooting guide. Mute is set to "off" the volume levels are set high. The unit mutes when the phone is on and when it's guiding you, just no sound comes out. I am considering sending it in for diagnoses. Should I call them first? How is their customer service via telephone? It couldn't be something loose or unplugged. everything else works perfect
  10. Thanks guys I'll pull the deck and check the connections once again. I thought maybe the BT1 is defective. Bluetooth has always hated me anyway. Even my old earpieces. They would disconnect and re-connect all the time. Not a huge deal I'm sure Pioneer will help me out (yeah right!). If I find a solution I will post in case any one else has this issue.
  11. Thank you whtcrxghst! So, you quoted the whole first post, which says in big bold letters...but... eh forget it. I hate this thread too. Sorry man! I know, I feel like a semi-tard for doing that! Anyway, any thoughts on my post about BT or do you hate those too? lol! http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10996
  12. Nope, none. I believe it has to be a setting on the Z2 cause I tried a Motorola V550 and it does the same thing. Maybe the BT1 is defective. Weird as it connects so easily, just no sound. It mutes the background music and all like it's supposed to. Hmmmm. Probably some simple setting or adjustment that I am overlooking. Thanks for the reply.
  13. I've got a Blackberry Pearl 8100 with AT&T (formerly Cingular) and it pairs with no problem at all automatically. When I make a call, the person can here me perfectly but I cannot here them. I followed instructions from some of you with the Pearl and it connects fine. Just no sound. tried L&R, L only and R only on the phone/nav setting. Still nothing. It's like it's muted or something. It is a Z2 and I have the ND-BT1. Anyone have a solution or suggestion? My SW version on my BB Pearl is 4.2.0.67 Platform 2.2.0.39. I am going outta my mind here. Your input is greatly appreciated! Thank
