  1. I had the same problem dude, and it is still giving me issues. Even 2 local professional install shops that do these bypasses have been unable to do both the bypass for me as well as the firmware, due to the problem you described. They encounter the same issue as I do, everything has been double checked...wiring etc. And the firmware version indicates the version BEFORE the firmware upgrade. I dunno man. I gave up on trying to get either one of them to work. I spent money to try and get this done and nothing got resolved in the way of a firmware update or a bypass. The instructions may be simp
  2. Go with the new one for sure dude. I found out what was wrong with the sat radio boxes for sure….all 3 of them, which happened to also be a SIR-PNR2. It was in fact a grounding problem, which just caused the boxes to just keep burning up. What sucks is the Sirius box (SIR-PNR2) box has been discontinued by the manufacturer, so I cannot get one, before today they told me they had been on back order. The good news, even though I had to wait a month after I submitted my RMA request, was that there is a new tuner that just came out. It uses a different output/input on the Z2 which kinda resemble
  3. Thanks...I will check on that. I appreciate the advice...and as for my bypass issues? Any advice there? Check my other postings. I have double checked, and even took my Z2 to 2 local professional car audio dealerships (not a Circuit City roadshop haha), and still not able to get the bypass to continuously work.
  4. Ok I got the 2 wire done correctly, and it was double checked and verified by 2 local shops. The software has been burned as an image with the ISO burning program that was on another post on here. I have also tried it with Nero. The bypass update still does not work. The firmware update does not work either. I do not get a yes or no to run the update. Instead I get this. If I install the disc the bypass works for a short time then goes back to the regular settings.
  5. Just to take what you asked a step further...let's say I try this active ISO burner...(which I have) are there any little tweaks on the setting you have to do BEFORE you burn to disc? or is it totally 100% install, point, click, burn?
  6. Man this is going to shock you but in the 2 months I have had my Z2 installed I have already been through 3...yes...3 SIR-PNR2 boxes!!! I have it daisy chained to my iPod box, and have even tried reversing the Daisy chain, and even plugging the satellite radio box straight in...no luck. The boxes get burned up somehow...and this is 3 boxes so the odds of all of them being defective are dropping quickly. The first box I had last for maybe 3 weeks. I bought them all brand new from Crutchfield. I wish you luck, because it is frustrating...not to mention the problems I am having with my bypass.
  7. Dude the problem you are having with the bypass sounds EXACTLY like mine. ALL the wires are done as they should be. Now I am unable to install the firmware upgrade OR the bypass. And I evem got the firmware update disc FROM Pioneer! OK...so for arguements sake let's say that I am just jacking up the installation of my firmware and bypass....ok. Well I took my Z2 to 2 different profeesional car audio dealerships, both of them in the area are reputable, and knowledgable in this type of thing. They could not bypass it or install the firmware either, and they used both their in house software
  8. can you give me a link or post pictures and instructions then on the 2 wire bypass?
  9. Yes I reset the unit and it behaved like I never installed the bypass
  10. Ok I hit a snag. Whenever I insert the disc then hit map it says something to the effect that the update disc inserted is an older version. Please try with new version. But after I took the disc out and drove around it seemed as though the bypass would work fine....for a few hours...then it would go right back to having that disclaimer pop up, and would prevent me from watching while in motion. I then have to RE-install the bypass software and it starts working again, but then the same thing happens. What am I doing wrong?
  11. I am wanting to install the firmware update on my Z2, but I have already installed the bypass software. When I install the firmware on my Z2 will I need to install the bypass software again or do anything else after I update my firmware, or am I good to go? Hey Hyperite thanks for the ISO on the bypass. Simplified things for me big time.
