  11. DO NOT BUY ANY PIONEER NAV SYSTEM If you are thinking about buying a Pioneer for Navigation, don't waste your money. It is basically a $1000 radio, as I'm sure alot of you would agree. We should write reviews about this P.O.S. Heres a good for you all.... I live in Calgary and was planning a trip to Ainsworth hotsprings in British-Columbia. Map quest tells me to go down through crows nest pass and the entire trip should take 8hrs and 18minutes. Now the good part... My D3 tells me to go north through jasper around the mountains and back down again. It gives me a total trip time of.....
  12. Here is Franks phone number.... I hate giving out peoples direct numbers but this issue is retarted and if it takes us "pissing them off" to get any reaction. LETS DO IT!!!! call them until they need another phone line just to take the calls reguarding this issue. 1-905-946-7403 Sorry Frank. It had to be done. G

  14. if you are reading this post... Make sure to call pioneer as they wont make a fix, until they see this as a problem. When I called they said they haven't heard of anything about this issue. The product specialist there is named Frank so when you call, ask for him and let him know this problem. If we call enough maybe they will "see this as being a problem.

  16. IT IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE SIGNAL. THE MAP IS FINE. IT KNOWS WERE I AM ON THE MAP. ITS JUST THE ROUTE IT CHOOSES THAT IS MESSED UP. G
  17. P.S I'm not trying to be a dick or cut down the product in any way, because I think it's pretty sweet other than the small issue with the Nav. I'm just optimistic that if enough people call pioneer, it will make make pioneer "aware of this problem". And if all goes well they wil fix it. Thanks G
  18. hey cowboy. Where do you live Canada or U.S? just trying to see if its happening almost every where. have you called Pioneer to "inform them of the problem"? If not you should call them to let them know. thanks G
  19. I know the Gyro and Bypass has nothing to do with it, but just to make sure... Has anyone had this problem who hasn't bypassed the Navigation. Or Can anyone reverse the bypass (so its back to normal factory condition) and see if it still makes you do circles. Pioneer couldn't give me reference number but if you call and tell them its the D3 and what its doing, if we get enough, they should fix it for us. G
  20. cool. Yah I'm calling them right now to see if I can get a case # to put on here so that they know that its the same problem for everyone. It's not problem with it locating me or my destination (as you said). The only problem is the route it chooses to get there makes you do circles. The map knows where I am as I can see it show me do the full circle to get onto the road I could have just turned straight onto. I'll post the number we should refrence when calling as soon as I get through. I think its funny they said "what do you expect Pioneer to do". FIX THE PROBLEM, what els
  21. Right On! Just curious to know why she said to take it in. The guy I spoke to said that it was just the navigation system that it has. And that maybe its not that Great. Did she say what they would try to do to the unit when you took it in?? Lets keep on them until this is Fixed. G
  22. I have Spoken to Pioneer about this and they told me that they haven't heard anything about this problem, and that no firmware will be requested until this is noticed as a problem. So here's what we need to do... You need to call Pioneer and make a complaint about this problem. Basically just tell them that the navigation doesn't route the fastest way possible and it will actually make you do circles before getting to the destination. Just give an example of a problem you had. Make sure to get a call log number to ensure that they have actually input the complaint. We need as many
  23. trol1374, The green wire (park brake) IS grounded properly. It makes no difference if the switch is on or off at start up. Once I grounded and moved Pin holes on the mute wire, everything works fine!!! I like having my park brake on a switch so that if I needed to, I could "prove" that the DVD won't play while I drive. If a cop pulled me over I could tell them they were seeing things. lol G
  24. Yeah It used to shut off after I would go 10km/h which is like 6mph. I think it just shuts off when it gets to 10 either kmph or mph. But anyways... The Problem I was having with my video not playing when I drove over a certain speed, was due to the fact that I had not Done anything with the mute wire. I thought the guy who installed it changed it for me, but he lied. IF YOUR VIDEO DOESN'T PLAY AFTER YOU GO A CERTAIN SPEED THE MUTE WIRE EITHER HASN'T BEEN MOVED TO THE NEW PIN SPOT, OR IT IS NOT GROUNDED PROPERLY. Once you correct this problem it will work just fine. G
  25. I just got a new Pioneer Avic d3. It was proffessionally installed. The guy who installed it left the green wire out so I could ground it somewhere else. I did this but now it says "there is an improper connection to your parking break lead. The unit works after I hit O.k. I can watch DVD's and everything else works fine, and since I put a switch in between, I can flip the switch so it looks like the brake is on. But normally I just leave it on. Any ideas why it says its improperly connected? Its obviously grounded because if it wasn't, when the switch is on ("parking break on"), everythin
