2005 Subaru STI AVIC-D3 Install
SpreadHeadLINC replied to whitej34's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
I finally got to this install and yes, it is very clean in that double-din seating in the new imprezas. My WRX likes me better for putting it in. I also installed the bluetooth and sirius and they are great too. -

Is there anyway to display all the info at once? Or is the interface just that crappy? -
Does anyone live in Philly that has had a custom sub box put in their vehicle? I have a WRX wagon and it's tricky to make a space-saving sub box for the back, so I want someone really good. I was hoping for some recommendations of someone if anyone has any. Thanks, -LINC

nice. guess ill just suck it up and tap the ecu. I know it's located under the rug on the passenger side, but how much of a bitch is it to get to? Do you have to remove the seat itself? I'm assuming not. Thanks for all the noobster help my friend -

yea but for warranty purposes (I still have 30k left) I heard it's much easier to see mods done to the ecu. True? or no? I just heard that tapping in behind the cluster is a bit less invasive. -

yea, but I am trying to wire through the dash behind my gauge cluster. I might just end up moving to the ECU, because I need to learn how to anyway. Does anyone know which the VSS wire is behind the cluster? -

well i dunno what happened but it wasn't reading my VSS and I was getting a check engine light. I woke up to go to work the system was reading my VSS but the light was still there. After work...it was gone. Weird, right?

Hi everyone, I just finished (4:00 am) installing my AVIC-D3 with bluetooth and ipod and I hooked up the VSS wire after doing the bypass. I have an 05 Subaru WRX wagon and everything seems to be working perfectly but the CEL just popped up. Anyone know how I could have triggered this? Thanks for any help. ps. I went at the VSS through the gauge shroud.
