  1. From what I understand, it only offers kid-oriented channels. http://www.sirius.com/backseattv
  2. I think the differences are nominal. The CD-R55 is bigger and the button placement is different. Would it kill Pioneer to design these things more ergonomically?
  3. Thanks for everyone's help Nah, it's all good. I'm only joking around. I went ahead and ordered the remote from Crutchfield because of their 30-day money back guarantee and their no-questions-asked refund policy. I got it from the outlet store for $13.69 and used coupon PA145 to waive the shipping charges. As a testament to their great customer service skills, they applied the coupon AFTER I ordered, when I called them to see if I could use it. I ordered it on Saturday and received it today (Monday, Christmas eve) amidst the heavy package traffic surrounding the holidays. Gr
  4. Does anyone know if the CD-R55 remote will work for the Z1? I know the CD-R5 is compatible with the Z1, but Pioneer is out of stock and everywhere that has them in stock sells them for ridiculous prices. Does anyone know where to get one for a reasonable price?
  5. If you're using Photoshop, be sure to save the JPEG as baseline (standard) and NOT progressive. I think progressive is the default for Photoshop. Here's an example. I'm a big fan of Exact Science clothing.
  6. I'm in the Hampton Roads area, but I'm afraid I don't have the free time to do an install. Check Metra to see if they have a harness for your car that gives you navigational wiring. If so, then your workload is cut drastically. Let me know what kind of car you have. I'll let you know if some free time comes up. Good luck. PS Be careful when taking it to local installers. I was scammed by a certain shop in Norfolk. Send me a PM and I'll give you the details.
  7. Oh, if anyone needs help installing a Z1 in a Chevy HHR, let me know. The install shop did a terrible job putting mine in, so I had to redo everything.
  8. First off, I have to give much thanks to all of you who have contributed. I'm not too proficient with computers, but I'm no dunce by any means. My strong point is with car audio, so I was kind of caught off guard with the whole upgrade process since the majority is done with a computer. I bought a 40GB Toshiba hard drive off eBay since Newegg only has the SATA drives, I believe. I bought the 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter off compusa. I followed the instructions and everything was fairly straightforward. I did, however, run into a few problems when I connected my hard drive to my
  9. Yeah, it looks like Metra doesn't make a harness that will supply the nav wires. Take it to the installer and let them deal with it. If they charge you for a nav install, make sure they connect the nav wiring. The dumbasses I took it to charged me for a nav install, but didn't hook up the speed sense and reverse wires. They aren't vital to the Z1, but still, for that price they should have done it. My harness was pretty straight forward. I installed it and it works great. I accomplished in a few minutes what it took the installers several hours to try and figure out. Good luc
  10. DIY it if you have the experience and skills to do so. I paid $330 for an installer to do some shoddy work. I wanted to have an installer be able to vouch for me in case the deck malfunctioned. Since I was buying it used, it would be hard for the seller to refute a professional installer. I basically wasted the $330 because I know I could have done a better job myself. The installer did a terrible job. Also, the shop tried to scam me out of $100. They charged me for a harness with a special module that allows my car to keep the audible turn signal and warning chimes, yet they installed
  11. You got an excellent deal on the Z1. I bought mine used for $900. I know I could have found a better price if I looked hard enough. You can download the manuals if you really need to. The deck is intuitive enough that you can figure most of it out on your own. That is, assuming you've had experience with after market head units. I was in the same situation as you were in. I was debating between the Strada and the DNX7100. Car Audio and Electronics selected the 7100 as one of their products of the year. There was a comparison a few months ago and they gave the 7100 an A- while the S
