  1. you installed the HTC car app on the Note5??? ive tried to uninstall and install the HTC car app but that doesnt help here...
  2. what car app exactly? Ive uninstalled htc car app and reinstalled it a few times with no luck of android auto working again still... even tried reconnecting to the MHL cable i had initially connected the M9 to that started this mess and then back to the normal USB2 cable but no luck at all...

  4. Yes! I've had this happen too... seems to be tied to MHL... as I was fine using Android auto, but I connected to hdmi with mhl cable and ever since I can't get Android auto to work on usb2 and get that same message u show! Mines HTC though so likely an issue with pioneer here.
  5. The traffic service through avicsync is through a different service as opposed to the one that is through the local radio towers which is typically slow to updating from what ive seen.... manual called out what exact service the avicsync is hitting for traffic but its not the same as what you have without it.
  6. yeah doesn't look like it supports anything I have.... all my devices are Lollipop and above but GooglePlay shows not compatible with any of them... HTC M8, M9, A9 all either on LP or MM..... what a shame here..... and a fail at this point.
  7. wow... just wow..... read the manual and am just stunned by what I saw listed for android device support... fact they went through these devices and specified them in the manual tells me it will be a long time before they branch out... Samsung SGS2/3/4, Note 2, Tab2(really, a damn tablet) LG Nexus 5 Asus Nexus 7 ..... where are all the HTC devices at?????.... no Nexus 6 For the items they are using and services/calls within Android, having it compatible across multiple devices is very easily done... many are using same SoC and chipset stack as well now.... Further frus
  8. that would be correct! Usually go with Clarion units but wanted to get a nav unit this time and the pioneer looked the best one out there which also had android auto available... which android auto limited me to kenwood or this unit... hopefully they get the app up at some point, or at least implement traffic correctly and show it on roads via colors like green/orange/red...
  9. I mean if AVICSYNC ever got off the ground in an app that might help aid the thing.... this is the first time i have seen a company go so full steam on having a feature loaded in the device menus but literally zero way of getting to it or using it as the half that turns all the stuff on isn't even out yet.... would of thought they would of enabled it with a firmware update and then released the app if they thought they were this behind... Another let down is traffic... I dunno why but I thought i would see the traffic lines on the map like you do on googlemaps instead of just icons tha
  10. yup. thats exactly what im using it for here... backup map service... i emailed pioneer and got the below response lol: "I checked but did not see any reported problems in the North Carolina area. It is possible it could be the way the algorithms are calculating the route. I would also recommend since the maps were developed by NaviExtras checking with them also to see if they are aware of any issues in that area. If you would like to contact them via email the following link will be able to assist: https://pioneer.naviextras.com/shop/portal/support?selectedTab=contactus..."
  11. digging up an old thread but the item that stood out to me here was in regards to the navigation route selection on the unit here... I had the 8100 installed this weekend and on my trip to and from work it was showing me routes that none were the real fastest one... The fastest one that should of shown up at least under the alternate routes is the first one that shows on google maps, and is one that is main highway shortest distance as well... I cant figure out if the traffic side of the unit just completely overrode my options eliminating the clear obvious stretch of road as it was a
