Thanks for following. I decided to hold off on my decision to see what announcements CES 2008 provides. Cnet is providing good coverage and there are some interesting developments. I may go with a Video/DVD based stereo and continue to use my Garmin Nuvi 660 - with the technology changing as quickly as it is it might be the way to go - a number of companies are going to have DVD players out at around $600 which means street prices will be even less. The DNX7100 seems like a great unit and if I didn't already have the Nuvi it would be a no-brainer.

This is an interesting development. What you can't tell from the press release if whether or not Pioneer will have a car stereo that allows you to dock this similar to the Alpine Blackbird II.

I am considering this NAV system or the Z2. Can someone who has the 7100 tell me what happens to music when navigation commands are given? Does the volume lower or does it pause and restart? I have a nuvi and it pauses the music when it gives commands which is kind of annoying. Thanks!
