getting an AVIC D3 WONDERING IF THERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM
stx2006 replied to khmerxnuttyxb's topic in General
Never had any problems with mine, besides it not putting me where I really was on the GPS. Hooked up the VSS wire and it worked fine after that. -
good idea, since he prolly would know of what size screws I need for this then I would! haha.
-
well crap! Last time I trust Cfeild on giving me everything I needed! haha
-
sweet thanks! I think I'm going to try the 1/4" spacers since I have the other parts.. I'm also guess the spacers go behind the radio mounts that hold it to the dash? If so, I tried this but my screws wasn't long enough, ha.

http://www.audiooutfitter.com/95-5812/m ... 17821.html ?? Kinda looks like the one Cfeild sent me. Just has the spacers...
-
thanks! Also since it sounds like you install these things, what mount are you using? I'm using the one Cfeild sent me but it doesn't work to well though.

I deal with brand new fords all the time, you wouldn't beleive the number of times I say that or FUCKING FORDS. hehe, Since you deal with them maybe you can help me with this also, whats the best place to get through the firewall to get to this wire? My 06 has seals on all the holes or there's to many cables going out a hole to get anymore through it.
-
booo! Why did they change it?!?! lol... My 06 is in the radio harness haha.. Oh well I can get that working. At least I don't have to buy a new harness!

VSS Wire: ABS MODULE DRIVERS FENDER WELL ONLY YELLOW/BLUE WIRE I'm guessing that means the kick panel at the bottom by the door?
-
I'm about to trade my 06 f-150 off for a 08 and I was wondering if the 08 has the same radio harness as the 06?

Turns out the in-line fuse was blown.. Some how. ummm

Is it normal for a SIRIUS tuner in a D3 not to work when its below freezing outside? It worked this morning when I was going to work, but it was like 40F I get to work and its getting colder. By the time I left it was below 30F and now the tuner isn't working...

Avic-D1 Does not Turn Off when Key is removed
stx2006 replied to Jetta06's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
My 06 F-150 would do that. All I had to do was open the door and then it would go off. It had a 10min play time when the truck was off. -
GPS has me about a block and half away from actual location,
stx2006 replied to 04ctd's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
I had that problem, hooked up the VSS and it worked just fine! The VSS wire is used so when your GPS isn't getting a good GPS signal it'll still know where you really are. -
i second that notion!!! I third it!

1 week old D3 making "disc sounds" constantly
stx2006 replied to my2002svt's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Like the guy said above me, it could also be a dirty disk. -
This guy, that's who! Somebody get me some rope and some gasoline. We're gonna have us a little party. err wtf! I just added to the old thread spamming by not seeing it was from 2006!!!!!!!!

pioneer wont give you support anyways, since you bought it off ebay. I called up pioneer about my sat tuner not working, before they'd help me they asked who I bought it from. And when I told them they said "ok" and helped me out. Then I asked him why he asked and he said they wont help anyone if they didn't buy it from a pioneer authorized dealer.
-
ahh! I see! Thanks! I seen them cables. But didnt think nothing of them since I didn't need to plug anything into them.
-
But where do I plug it into the D3 at? Is there a video/sound cables I'm over looking?
-
I was wanting to hook up my PS2 to my D3 since I bought a 360 so I never play the PS2 anymore. I was wanting to know though what would I need to plug into the D3 to make this work?
-
o0oo0o0o.. Didn't see that! Thanks!

leaving town and cant find speed sensor wire! AHHH!
stx2006 replied to danpenksa's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
18-pin means theres 18-pins in the little clip. You could just probe them wires they are telling you and see which one changes as you drive.
