  1. BY wireless, what do you mean?  I can use CarPlay fine and also I can just use Bluetooth and then load Spotify.

That technically is wireless, so maybe try that...both work great.

Android auto will be going wireless in some cars soon.

But the OP means he can just keep the phone in his pocket and the head unit will automatically connect and browse spotify playlists and play songs.  Currently, he has to plug in the USB cable, which is a whole nother step, and AA/carplay limit what you can do on your smartphone while using it for spotify.

  2. Did you make sure you went into smartphone setup in the head unit and set it to Apple??

Have you tried the phone as an iPOD using the head unit's normal ipod playback, not in carplay?

I'm using the amazon basics lightning cable going through a USB bulkhead connector mounted in my center console(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XL09YLW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1).  Works great with my iphone 6 iOS 10.3.1

  3. The traffic reciever is only as good as the dummy's putting in the information into the computer.  Typically, there are camera's all over the city and traffic controllers for the city will enter the data into a computer.  The problem is, traffic can clear up pretty fast, and those people are slow to take the traffic off.

I have the same problem on my tomtom GPS.  It'll show traffic where there is none.  Or there'll be traffic and not show up.

The traffic reciever would be a great concept in a perfect world.  But, the pioneer and tomtom can only download whatever information it recieves, it's can't do anything to disseminate the age of the data or anything like that.

  4. The only difference between the x100nex vs the x200nex series is the capability for Maestro RR was added.  Other than that, they're exactly the same.  Unless you have a specific need to see certain gauges while driving, I wouldn't even bother.  Just keep a bluetooth OBD dongle in your glove box, they're only like $20.  Then use the Torque app on android, or equivalent app on iOS to view guages or clear trouble codes.

  5. Does it go fully black, or does it gray out????

I found that the GPS on my Moto G Play (4th gen) sucks, it uses the snapdragon410, so your processor on your phone might vary, but the GPS in this phone can't hold a GPS lock while driving.  I ended up buying an external GARMIN GLO gps reciever which acquires satelites very quickly and maintains an awesome lock at speed and in cities.

When the gps goes out on my moto G(with built in GPS), the screen grays out and says "searching for gps".

  6. There's no difference between the 8200 and the 8201.  All they did was package a backup camera with the unit and market the box as 8201NEX.  The radio inside the box still says 8200NEX.

That said, there's plenty of reviews on amazon, youtube etc... of the 8200NEX.  I love my 4200NEX, it's been a great workhorse.

  7. 1.  Did you make sure you downloaded the android auto app on the phone, from the google play store.

    2.  For the iPhone, you need to select it in the menu under smartphone setup, and make sure it's connected to USB1.

    3.  If an installer used some kind of passthrough to a factory USB port, it may not work.  I wasn't able to use my factory USB port even though continuity checked out fine through the USB port, I had to install another USB socket I got from AMAZON which plugs directly into the back of the head unit.  You can test this by plugging your phone directly onto the ports on the back of the head unit.

  8. What functions don't work??  Most likely the installer is required to connect it so the parking brake disables certain functions when you're moving.  Do the functions work when you have the parking brake on?

  9. USB 2.0 cables is just a straight 4 wire connection, no electronics or special resistors like in apple cables.  So yes, it should work just fine.

But why would you not run a small cable into your glove box??  Do you really want to rip your whole dash apart again just to update the music on your USB stick?

  10. Waze is coming to Android auto very very soon.  Supposed to be out Q1 of 2017.  But Android auto was just updated on february 22nd 2017 to allow for a multi-selection of navigation, similar to how you can select different music apps on android auto.  Right now, you can only select google maps, but i'm guessing it's up to waze now to have an update which allows you to select waze from that menu.

Should be very shortly now, be patient.  Waze has already tweeted that it's in Beta right now, so very close.

    See announcement: http://nseavoice.com/cars/update-waze-for-android-auto-edge-closer-to-release-920020053.html

  11. That's not how you hook it up.  The reverse signal of the radio is supposed to go to the reverse signal output of your gearshift or you can tap the 12v from your reverse light bulbs.

You can also tap 12v ground and power from your reverse light bulbs for power to the camera(red and black wire).

The only wire that should go from the camera to the head unit is the yellow rca cable.

  12. My dad has a 3700bhs which was having cold weather issues.  We recently sent it out for repair and recieved it back working perfectly.  We sent it to United Radio Service in NY, which was our closest official warranty repair facility.  They ended up replacing a circuit board, reflashing to the latest software, and doing a full rundown checkout.  It took them about 2 business days after recieving the unit to send it back out.  Didn't get a tracking number or anything, just showed up on the doorstep.  Expect to be without your radio for about 2 weeks.  A few days traveling to them, 2-3 days for repair, then a few days traveling back to you.

You only have to send the head unit itself, you can leave the harness in the car.

  13. I don't think it's possible unless you install a separate amp in the back for the rear speakers.  The rear out has it's own RCA output, but the head unit always plays whatever is selected to show on the front screen.  I wish pioneer would give a sound selection to play whatever's on the head unit or on the rear output.

If you installed a rear amp then yes, I think you could do what you want.

For miracast, I use a chromecast plugged into the HDMI jack.  But I need 2 phones to do it, where one phone is the wifi hotspot.

You might be best off getting a mirrorlink compatible head unit and a Mirrorlink capable phone.  Not very many phones are mirrorlink capable and not all nex units are mirrorlink capable either.  So make sure you get both that are compatible.  Then all you need is a mirrorlink cable you can buy on amazon or wherever.  You'll then be able to view and control your phone from your head unit so you can run your uber/lyft app.  You'll still need to do the amp for the rear speakers.

  14. Did you wire the reverse signal into the reverse wire trigger of the head unit as well, there might be a setting for positive or negative trigger as well.

Is it the OEM camera or an aftermarket one you installed?  Many OEM cameras are 6V cameras, axxess sells the ax-cam6v regulator.
