Thanks for that... Its hard to pass up the price, and it also seems that the people with issues (from what I have read) have done the bypass as well. My wife's D3 doesn't have the bypass and other than having to set the parking break to set an address its not an issue. Is your unit bypassed?

I have been looking at one of these units both as a replacement for my wife's D3 and as a unit for my own car. I know that this forum will always see a lot of complaints about reboots etc, but is the general consensus that this unit is "solid" or would I be best served to wait for the new units coming out this summer? I have seen some great deals on the 700 (since I need 3 Pre-outs), but seeing the reboot issues makes me worry a bit.

I bought my wife a D3 setup (Bluetooth, ipod,backup camera). er only complaint is the speed at which the ipod interface works. I have seen some "playlist tricks" but has anyone heard of a way to speed it up or patches planned? Thanks in advanced.

Now the Scanner idea would be neat... guess you could always just do an AUX in... I think controlling a scanner would be a bit too much for such a small market segment.

I was told today at the local sound advice that BlueTooth works with the D2... I am assuming this guy doesn't know what hes talking about as everything I have read has said Z1 ONLY.

I am looking at the size of the Z1 and D2 - what size should I be concerned with as far as to what will fit? DIN Chassis size or Nose Size? It would appear that the NOSE size on the Z1 is larger than my opening, but that chassis size is fine. Is the nose size the faceplate dimensions?

The only differences for in the Z1 and the D2 are the HDD based navigation and the bluetooth right?

Well I was actually willing to accept a the AVIC with the flip screen but my wife said if its not flush then it wont go in. UPDATE: She just asked me "Is there any way to have a silver faceplate so that it matches?" Why oh why do I even try? LOL

How close to "stock" can you get the Z1 into the 07 Santa Fe? It looks like it would fit just fine ( its just a matter of finding a good piece of material to make the faceplate and surround in ) Did the dash take any or many modifications? Can you use the steering wheel controls with the unit? Btw - Thanks for this help.
