  1. Thanks for the info Garrett! My Z3 has had issues with the screen tilting 1/2 way when the car is turned off and then either not wanting to tilt properly after or not tilting at all when turned on. Hopefully this will fix it. Thanks!
  2. Okay, I feel like a complete half-a-tard, what a huge difference, thanks for the help, driving just got soooo much better. Now the other issue I have, and I had the same one with my D3, is how come I can't see my backup camera if the car is not in reverse? I'm using the ND-BC2. Billy
  3. Hey everyone, I swapped out my D3 for a Z3 a few days after the Z3 came out and I'm just getting around to complaining. With the D3 the viewing angle was great. The backup camera looked good, watching dvd's was awesome but not so much for the Z3. Does anyone else have this issue? Everything looks like white silhouettes because of the viewing angle. I just sold my D3 but came really close to putting it back in. The iPod control is better, the volume control for the bluetooth setup is better and obviously the screen is an issue. Billy
  4. Well I called Pioneer tech support and we were able to fix the speaker issue. What happened was that I turned the subs on via the deck and by default that turns off the rear speakers because they're not set to full range, they're set to sub output. So what I had to do is turn off the sub output, turn off the deck, set the rear speakers to full, turn the deck back on and turn the sub output on. This is an option that I don't really see as applicable, I'm not quite sure what purpose it serves. Thanks pioneer! When the map is active and I change the view to backup camera the screen goes black
  5. So I just upgraded my AVIC-D3 to a much anticipated Z3. So I've got 2 issues. 1. My Rear speakers aren't working 2. My backup camera is only active when my car is in reverse which it was doing with the D3. I really don't understand why the rear speaks don't work because the wiring is identical(including the bypass) as the D3. The connectors are just slightly different in size. For some reason the deck does not see them and does not give me the option for fade, just balance. Is this a software thing or does something have to be initialized on the deck to make these active? Thank
  6. Ahh that's what I've heard. So I'm guessing it's not worth even trying them out. Thanks for the help.
  7. I thought about that, we should have tried it. If that doesn't work will a ground loop isolator help? Thanks.
  8. Hey everyone, I just installed a new sub amp and a new 4 channel amp for my doors. I rerouted my RCA's going to my amps away from any power cables but I'm still getting a little engine noise coming through the speakers. I disconnected them to troubleshoot and found that the noise is coming through those wires. Does anyone have any advice to eliminate this problem? Are there any really good filters out there that don't screw with the sound of the deck? Or is there any type of aftermarket shielding I can wrap around the RCA's? Thanks! Billy
  9. Wow, a ground loop in a car? That's crazy, I wonder where the source is. He could have also used a ground loop isolator but I'm not sure how much one for 2 RCA's would go for. B-Far
  10. Well I picked up a GEX-P10XMT and installed it and it works great. Connected about 5min after activation and the XM Nav Traffic started up without a hitch. After taking my old unit out I saw the terrible cable management job an old installer did, talk about lazy. Everything was held together with double backed tape and wires were tied together with electrical tape. This really pissed me off, but it gave me a chance to get inside my car and do it the right way. Billy
  11. Please don't take offense to this (hey, it happened to me once) but are you sure you connected the IP-BUS cable correctly? Meaning, is black to black and blue to blue? Why the heck did Pioneer made it to where either IP-BUS cable end will fit into either color (input or output) plug I'll never know................................ But I had a very similar problem. Discovered the IP-BUS cable on the XM tuner was in the wrong plug. Switched it, worked perfectly. Just a suggestion.............. --Ryan Thanks for the suggestion Ryan, no offense taken. there's lots of noobs
  12. Mine ended up being by my accelerator and the reset button in easy to hit. But, that didn't solve my problem. Unfortunately it's still not working and the tech support at XM has no clue, what a surprise. Are there any firmware updates for the D3 that might fix this?
  13. I haven't tried that yet, I'm going to pull my dash apart now and check it out. Do you have to refresh it after its reset? Thanks!
  14. I'm using the pioneer GEX-P920XM. I have already done this once with my old head unit and it worked great and the car was in the same exact parking spot and I haven't re-routed my antenna either. Is it possible that it's not connected in the right spot on the xm module or can it only connect in one place? Billy
  15. Hey guys this is my first post here. Got a new D3X package put in my 01 QX4 . I'm using my 1 year old XM receiver from my DEH-BT9800 and I can't get past the preview channel. I had let my subscription lapse with XM so I re-ssubscribed and have refreshed the unit a bunch of times. The XM NAV Traffic is also showing as not having a signal. Does anyone know about this? Thanks for the help! Billy
