  1. If you want the enhanced ipod and xm controls you need to upgrade the hideaway brain. I have an n2 headunit with a n3 brain and I have all the features you are talking about. I didnt have to send it off for a chip replacement or anything like that.
  2. Yes. Or if you're lucky like some of us on here you might be able to get xm radio free for a while. I recently bought a refurbished xm tuner from an ebay powerseller and when I installed it, I started receiving the channels immediately. I didnt call xm to activate the unit or anything. That was two months ago and today its still going strong without any problems.
  3. The enhanced ipod graphics definitely comes from the brain. I should know because I have the same setup as you do, n2 headunit with an n3 brain. Before I upgraded to the n3 brain i had the same crappy interface you are talking about. I didnt have to go into any setup menu or flash anything once I installed the unit. It was simple plug and play and now i basically have an n3 with all the enhanced features. I personally think you should make sure that you really have a n3 brain because thats where all your problems are coming from.
  4. I have the p7000 tv tuner from my last system and I was just going to put it on ebay to help buy a 5700 tv tuner. Fortunately, after reading this topic I think i want to try to modify it and same some money in the process. I hooked it up to my N2 and the system recognizes it because I'm able to change the channels with the headunit. The problem is that I can't get the audio or video to work. My question is what are the steps to modify this tuner? I have all the cables that came with this unit and a few extra one laying around. Thanks in advance[/quote]
