  1. No. You don't need the old discs. Read my post a few posts up if you're getting corrupted data.
  2. Positive switch is on the AVH. No beeps are heard when pressing the buttons. Beeps ARE heard if I press one of the buttons on the face of the D3. I'm positive the batteries are fine in the remote. The remote functions fine when not attempting to enter the maintenance menu. Ideas?
  3. I am using DL+. jlong mentioned that the D3 perfers DL+. ??
  4. Lu, I have both coasts images complete and on my computer. I have burned them both with success. I have updated my D3 with the East coast disc and it seemed to work fine. Word of warning though. It seemed to work fine for about a month, now it doesn't like certain navigation commands I input. Don't know if it's a problem with my D3 or the discs, but I'm trying to downgrade back to the 70 discs and just use them. Anyway, I can make you as many copies as you need. Please be aware that they are use at your own risk. I have a 25-pack of dual layers sitting next to me now. Let me know and I'll
  5. I'm having very similar issues with these new discs. Thought it was working good, now it can't find a damn thing and locks up constantly. I attempted to enter the maintenance mode, but I enter the code on my remote after the reset and it does nothing. Any help?
  6. My unit resets fine. Comes up with the "release reset button" alert, so I let go of the eject button. Then I type in the code and nothing happens. Screen does not change and continues displaying the "release reset button" message. I can type in the code 15 times and no change. Any help? This POS is under a year old, but is integrated into a $500 dash kit controlling my HVAC. I'm not about to rip it all out and mail it in. Especially in December.
  7. I am having serious problems with these updated discs as well. Worked great at first. Now not so much at all. It was a mistake to even bother with them. I will not be recommending them to anyone. On a side note, I was trying to perform the downgrade.... and after I release the eject button (after the release reset button alert is displayed), entering the code does nothing for me. I type it in and nothing. Hints?
  8. No you will not. Once it's been updated to the 80 firmware, you cannot use the 70 disc. FOR THOSE HAVING PROBLEMS UNZIPPING: For some reason the server is disconnecting the download when files are at 99.9% complete. To fix this, go to thepiratebay and download the torrent "Pioneer Navigation East CNDV 80MT" from viperbo21. It's a torrent that only contains the east disc. Have your torrent program directed to the same folder you downloaded jlong's maps into. Once the torrent is added, it will check the already downloaded files from jlong and download the missing pieces. I tried unzippin
  9. Of course you don't. They're just wire. Don't make them into anything their not. If you want to connect them, snip the end off and solder on some 18awg wire of your own. Most installs will not require a trim ring. Check with yours before you sweat it. The stylus is stupid. The on screen buttons are big for a reason.
  10. I downloaded the first run of 80MT discs jlong posted up a couple months ago. Burnt to dual layer great and updated great. My D3 seemed to be running perfect. I was able to pull up recent destinations and select them again to navigate to there again. I was able to pull up a full vicinity search and scan anything fine. However tonight I ran into an issue. When doing an "address search", I begin to type in the house number and as soon as I press ok, the D3 locks up. Display goes blank, but music continues to play. The menu and map buttons do not function during this time. After about 5 minutes,

  14. Go back to the forum index. Right at the top of the list of custom wallpaper section. Inside is like 5 stickies with instructions and a whole gallery to choose from.

  19. Step 10: I believe on all editions of Nero, the button is called "ADD" not open. This should be changed as to not confuse someone into opening the folder and adding one/all the images individually.
  20. Chalk up another successful download/installation. Took a few times of downloading to get a complete copy that would unzip with errors, but I got em. Burned with Nero 7 at 2.4X. Took damn near an hour per disc. But finished without errors and updated D3 without a hitch. This upgrade does erase all your backgrounds and resets SOME BUT NOT ALL of your personal settings. (Beep volume was reset. Saved destinations, EQ settings, button color, background color, etc were not changed) EDIT: And I made the torrent I said I was going to. Will be seeding for the next few days solid. http://thep
  21. This is the error I get when it's finished unpacking: D:\EastDisk.zip: CRC failed in CNDV-80MT East.iso. The file is corrupt Then it erases the ISO. I have just tried unpacking with BitZipper as well. I get a very similar error. UPDATE: After the 5th attempt at downloading the entire east coast file, I got one that unpacked correctly. I did not change anything else. Had issues, just re-downloaded and tried again. Finally worked. Now having very similar issues with pieces of the West Coast disc. Number 8 shows corrupt and number 16 shows wrong password. UPDATE: Redownloade
  22. Ok. I have downloaded the .zip version 3 times now. WinRAR 3.80 shows it as ~8.1G and begins to unpack it. Everything seems normal until it finishes at 100%. I get a small alert window saying the ISO is corrupt. Obviously other people are having no problems, so what could be my problem?
