  1. 32ValveFox,I see you have an 88 Mustang convert.;I have an 89 Mustang convert (unfortunately without the kick-a$$ swap you have!) My question is,when you mounted your system, did you go with a particular kind of double DIN face surround/mount,or did you throw something together,or what? I was able to fab some older brackets on the inside to hold it in place, and "created" a faceplate with some wood/vinyl just to make it pretty, but if there is a particular brand of dash kit or surround you used, I'd love to hear about it or where to get one from. Thanks,Chris
  2. I bought mine from them last week for $548.99,came that week and it's already in the car. Never bought from them before;after searching the web, they had the best price at the time and checked out ,BBB-wise,etc. Would definitely buy from them again, though a few of their items I was looking at (capacitor/amps/related) I was able to find elsewhere for less.
  3. I used the link posted earlier in this thread to go directly to the Pioneer site, and this was the link to their "authorized internet/online stores": http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... e+Internet The other link I found was regarding those that -weren't-,or at least some form of clarification regarding online purchases and the rebate: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... et+Dealers So,my guess is,if it isn't on their list of authorized stores, and it is bought off the net, there is a good chance it won't be eligible for the rebate. That being said, there is also a go

  5. joker2-I had a 400w 4-ch amp previously in the car with my old head unit, and I did have engine whine. I had the power cable and the RCA cables for the amp running down the transmission tunnel under the center console. Just before I got the D3,the amp went,so I bought a 1600W 2-ch amp. When I put in the D3 and amp, this time I ran the cables down the door sill instead and used a different grounding point also. It solved the problem, though I'm not sure which aspect of it did it. Just a thought!
  6. I just put mine in an 89 Mustang convertible on Sunday 2/24,only thing that took a while was undoing the previous radios harness/connections, stripping the wires, and finding suitable grounds. But everything, including the bypass, worked perfectly the first time out. (OK,I lied-when I first booted up,the nav system thought I was in Los Angeles, and I'm in Pittsburgh...minor detail, lol) I put the previous radio in this as well and echo the earlier post, there is a fair bit of wires to tuck once installed. But should be a snap,if you've ever done a standard radio before.
  7. Hi,new to this site, found it in a Vivissimo search-BTW,it is AWESOME! Anyways, I just bought my D3 about a week ago from Cartronics Plus, they had them for $548.99 + $37.90 s/h,here is their website: http://www.cartronicsplus.com I'd been pricing this from the big box stores (Circuit City/Best Buy) for almost a year, and it was always $999,though recently they did come down a hundred or so. But I'm very happy with the price I paid. It came in less than a week, and they offer the bundle of add-ons as well. One other thing...I used that bypass located elsewhere on avic411...for a first tim
