  1. Anyone compared these two units side by side? If not that interested in navigation, how would the Clarion compare sound quality wise to the pioneer for things like CD, DVD, Ipod, and Blue Tooth? So far, I've been able to listen to the AVIC-D3 compared to a Kenwood DDX512 (think thats it, new DVD DD for $599) and the kenwood to me anyway sounded very thin. Don't know how else to describe it, but on same speakers, the pioneer D3 had a warm, rich sound. The Kenwood had a very thin, hollowy sound. And, an alpine unit had a very bright, clinical/clean sound. So far, I preferred the so
  2. Just to inquire about Amazon and they've indicated that Amazon is not an authorized dealer and for the following reason. If you look at the list of Online Dealers on the pioneer website, they each indicate what lines of product they are authorized for. Only a handful indicate Car Audio and Navigation, and Amazon isn't one of them. Not saying you won't get your rebate, but based on this I don't think I'll roll the dice personally. Just an FYI based on what I was just told at the number printed on the rebate slip.
  3. I just ordered one of the 80 gig refurbs on Friday also. Did so with antcipiation of eventually deciding on a double din head unit that could support both the audio and video in it. That said, and I do realize this is an AVIC website, but does anyone think the D3 is the best choice to support basic music functions, occassional dvd, bluetooth and ipod music/video use? Nav would be least important to me. I'm considering the Kenwood DDX8019 and the Clarion 675MaxII also because they seem to have integrated video support, but I'm still researching.
