You need to do a soft reset by turning the ignition switch off then press the reset button with a pen tip.

The yellow/black mute wire was not moved per the instructions or not grounded. If both of these were done then the pin on the mute wire was damaged when inserted into the empty slot above it and is not making a good connection.
