  1. Just to double-check... you did connect the orange/white wire to your car's illumination wire, right?
  2. If your car has an antenna that extends / retracts into your vehicle, then it is a power antenna. If that antenna is powered, but isn't extending, then they forgot to attach the blue wire that controlls the power antenna. If your car does not have a power antenna, it's possible that they forgot to plug the antenna into your head unit at all, but you most likely wouldn't be picking up FM if that was the case.
  3. I have an 03 350Z (Bose from the factory), and I don't have this problem at all... In fact, the head unit is so loud that I take it to about level 10 and I fear that I'm risking going deaf. A while back, Nissan did a factory recall on the amplifier, did you get yours swapped out? If not, that might help. Since I took out my factory Bose 6-Disk, I've also had an Eclipse AVN5435 in my Z, and the Z2 is putting out more power to the speakers than both of my previous head units.
  4. Looks like #1 was about 90% of the problem... I popped the microphone out of my A-Pillar and call quality improved significantly. There are a couple of slots in the back half of the mic that are used for noise cancellation... they were inside of my a-pillar, so it was killin the call quality.
  5. Yeah, I drilled out a large hole in the A-Pillar behind the mic... it probably has about 4 inches of space. I'll give the holder a try tonight to compair.
  6. Hello all, Last night I installed my Z2... I installed the microphone in my driver's side A pillar rather than using the goofy looking microphone mount provided by Pioneer. Call quality is horrible... generally, I can hear the person I'm calling, but they can't understand I word I'm saying. Does anyone else have this problem? My assumption is there is one of two things happening: 1.) A-Pillar was a bad choice, and I'm picking up vibrations that are overpowering the microphone. 2.) Pioneer bluetooth blows. Any ideas?
  7. Hello all, I just installed my Z2 with a 3rd party (license plate frame style) reverse camera. For some reason the Z2 doesn't recognize the camera (the reverse map option is non-selectable), and I can't figure it out for the life of me. I verified that the camera is getting power with my volt meter, the video cable is plugged into the Brown RCA connection, and the reverse signal wire is connected (the hardware status screen verifies that the reverse wire is working properly). Is the problem simply that the Avic only works with the Pioneer camera? I kinda find that hard to believe
