  1. Just wanted to post back, I just drove the car for a little bit and it started working.
  2. Wow, a little testy huh? I guess I should of said I'm picking up a minimum of three. I've used this location for every single vehicle I've installed a navigation system in so why would it be the problem now? Not to mention I've pulled it out, it doesn't change a thing. PS: If we were supposed to abide by everything the manual says, I guess we wouldn't be doing two wire bypasses either or use the navigation while driving, etc.
  3. Yes, I've got three of the little sat. images showing up for signal. I just spoke to someone else who said you need to drive around for 10-20 minutes before it'll lock on, is this true? Also, it started out in LA. I have the GPS antenna mounted under the dash. I know it's not the best place but it's picking up signal so that's not my problem.
  4. Got my Z2 yesterday for my 2008 Mustang GT with the Shaker500 stereo and everything was perfect. They got the right wiring harness and dash kit. I had purchased everything I needed to get the installation done from Radio Shack including the voltage regulator, etc. I got it installed tonight. I soldered all of the connections, etc. I was pretty happy with the outcome. The dash is still apart and I turn it on. The Bypass works flawlessly except the navigation doesn't and the radio antenna doesn't fit. It's showing that I'm in California when I live in Florida. The arrow isn't even moving. Th
  5. Gotcha. I knew the "piggyback" wire taps aren't the preferred method.
  6. I'm going to be installing Z2 in the next week or two weeks. I've done headunit installs before, just none with navigation. I've researched and come up with that I'm going to have to do the 2 wire mod, as well as put a resistor in there to eliminate any popping upon shutting the vehicle down since I've got the "Shaker 500" system. The only thing I'm un-sure about is the VSS. The VSS in these cars isn't behind the dash, it's at the PCM. It's PIN3 on the top plug, it's a blue/yellow wire, if anyone else needs to know. However, how am I supposed to tap into it? Just use one of these? Th
  7. So for the newer Z2s do we just do the two wire bypass and that's it? .. or do we have to also download and install this image stuff? I'm a complete noobie on this forum. I'm just trying to figure it out before I order my Z2.
  8. I know you guys see these questions day in and day out. I'm a newbie here and I'm going to be ordering my Z2 here in the next few days. I want to have it researched before I go and order it. This link, http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#newbypass, will work for the Z2 (07/06 Bypass) Is there anything else I need to do besides this? Thanks in advanced guys.
