  1. I have an original Z1 upgraded to a Z3. The gracenote says to apply the firmware update to a Z3 only. Anyone know if I should try use the firmware update? Says it could damage the Z1 and Z2 units so I'm not sure. Thanks
  2. marful: I have a Toyota 4-Runner. I believe this also contributes to the problem, as the 4-Runner radio opening is at the very top of the console, right under the dash, with no insulation under the dash. I would guess that vehicles with the nav unit mounted lower, maybe with some buffer between the unit and the dash are not nearly as likely to have a heat issue as mine is. On the 4-Runner, the a/c vent is right behind the nav unit, so it was simple to cut a hole to allow air to blow on the Z1
  3. I am fairly sure it's heat related as well. I have a Z1, and here in Texas it started freezing both last summer and this summer. It's worked flawlessly through the colder months. I ended up cutting a hole in the a/c vent behind the radio, and installing a switch on the 12v switched line. I always turn off the switch when I stop. When I start the car, I have to let it run for about 5 minutes with the a/c blowing cold on the unit, then I can switch it on while I'm driving. It boots everytime when I do it that way, even though the dash is super hot right above the unit. It never boots i
  4. Thank you! I'm gonna give it a try tonight. I guess I thought the AV-Bus was part of it. It's simply a chain of IP-Bus connections. Thanks again...and I'll keep the 5700 for now
  5. I'm adding the XM tuner (GEX-P10XMT) to my Z1 that already has a tv tuner (GEX-P5700TV) attatched by ip-bus. I keep looking at the connection daigram, but I'm not quite sure how to follow the "daisy chain" process. Do I make a complete loop through all components? or is it a one way connection? I know it shouldn't be this confusing. I believe I have the 5700 "looped" in that I have one cable to the 5700, and another one coming back to the Z1. If so, I guess it wouldn't matter waht order they are in. Any help would be much appreciated. *** EDIT: okay...I see I have an AV-BUS b
  6. I've got a 5700 tv tuner hooked to my Z1, and experience the spotty TV reception like everyone else. Was wondering, has anyone ever tried using the cargo rack on the roof of your vehicle to increase reception? I think I could get to it with a little longer wire on the the diversity antenna. At least it would be outside the car instead of behind the glass. Any benefit to this?
  7. Just installed ducati's flasher module in an 03 Toyota 4-Runner. After two days I am having 100% success rate of the flasher deactivating the Z1 security. Just crank the car and go...don't even have to wait for it to finish booting up. Thanks again ducati! The flasher looks professional and the install was was easy to follow. It's amazing how fast you developed this and it was worth every penny. Cheers to ducati!
  8. thanks for the response. You are correct...the time has adjusted on its own from the GPS data. Thanks for the help
  9. Does anyone know how to adjust the time? I checked all through the manual, but I just can't seem to find this menu... Thanks
