1.
I havent tested this, but I think I read on here that you can burn DVD-Audio discs, which fit more songs, and you can rip to the HDD with that.
Can someone verify this? I'd love to know if it was true?
 2. Just wanted to drop a quick note here. I've been using ducatis flash circuit since the first batch (how long now DB?) and it works absolutely flawlessly every single time. I've never had it fail to bypass my unit. The unit just works as it should. I'm in total agreement that grounding two wires is easier. I just wanted to say that the circuit works in a plug and play fashion without any issues.
 3.
I think he wants them loaded so they are there all the time, not just on one trip. Icons on the map that just show up like gas stations and what not. But I don't think the Z1 has this ability (at least not in the US).
I think crazy means set them as address book locations. If you do this they will stay permanent and always be on your map. I haven't played around with it but it sounds like if you set a sound it will make a sound when you are nearing one? Either way they will always be on your overhead map.
 4. Mine's still working absolutely perfectly. Think I was like the second to install on this board. Thanks again man!
 5.
I have not experienced anything like that. When I first installed XM it took a few minutes to update but I have not noticed anything since. I did have a weird issue over the weekend where none of the XM channels worked except for the test channel. They seemed to tune fine just there was no audio. Other than that one time I haven't seen anything else strange.
This same issue has happened to me several times where you can tune to all of them, but there's no audio. Hmmm just happened again, where the unit says it's updating so it removes all my chann
 6. I find that every so often my unit will go into "updating" and nothing will come through on xm. Today none of the channels work and when you first boost the unit on it just says "loading" The connection screen says that xm is connected and that the signal is "very strong". Anyone else having strange xm issues?
 7.

if you turn the unit off will it still be bypassed when you turn it back on? just curious
If you are refering to turning the Z1 off, there is no way to actually turn it off, if the ignition is on it is on...
Yeah this is actually sort of annoying. The best I've found to do is to turn off the screen and turn off the source input. That will blank the screen and turn off all sound. Either way it shouldn't interfere with the bypass.
 8. Yeah I'm doing the same thing. Honestly I didn't want to give them any money up front peroid so i'm pretty happy they're not forcing contracts or anything at this point. Their yearly discount wasn't worth it and I guess they don't offer a lifetime anymore? That might have been worth it while it was available.
 9.
What about "copying" not "ripping" a cd-r to the hdd? What I mean is, if I load a data cd-r that is filled with a hundred or so mp3 files..will this copy to the hard drive or can the Z1 only "rip" audio discs to the hdd? If that is the case, can the user set bit rate? Thanks.
no bit rate is settable as far as I can tell and you cannot copy mp3 files directly to the drive. The ONLY option is to "rip" an original CD. With that said I have ripped cdr (copied originals) as well. The manual says you're not suppose to be able to do that, so I';m not sure h
 10.
I activated mine last Saturday. Took about 5 mins. Called the 800 number and asked to have Navtraffic added to my account. That was all. I called pretty late a night. That might have helped with wait times.
yeah today I called and I got through immediately, so now I have it up and running. So far it's pretty cool.
 11. Anyone using nav traffic? I can't for the life of me figure out how to add it to my xm account. I waited on hold for nearly two hours today with xm and could never get ahold of a person.
 12. Just disconnect your ebrake wire, you don't need it anymore.
 13.
Got mine today! Look for a full report tomorrow. Thanks for getting these to us so fast! I'm so tired of flashing my lights. ;-)
Just got it installed. Works great man, thanks for all your work on this. I was so surprised to see how small and simple it seemed. Works with the lights on or off as well. Simply wonderful, thanks.

 15.

So has the first batch shipped yet?
Not yet, I have all the parts (they all came in a couple hours ago, I'm going to stay late at work to try to get them done tonight. Those who paid me via e-check haven't cleared yet though. Hopefully I will finish them tonight, if not, then tomorrow night and they should go out Thursday (I hope).
Mine was a paypal balance transfer so no worries there. Just curious. Thanks!
