  1. I did the procedure as you described. The iPhone was stored in memory and the unit was recognized. However when I take out the key and then re-start the car a few minutes after..the iPhone is no longer recognized. I have to pair the unit again.
  2. @italiangoat - I understand what you're syaing as I have been able to do this as well. The problem that resurfaced for me is that when I turn the car off, take out the key the phone is disconnected. When I re-start the car, the AVIC unit does not see the iPhone and I have to do a re-pairing to get the connection back. Still the same way during the early days. Are you saying your AVIC unit pairs with the iPhone automatically? This is what I am trying to resolve.
  3. Den - are you now getting the D3 to automatically detect and connect with the iPhone?

Just updating the thread...was able to program the unit per the instructions above. I was also able to use/hook up the BT Audio feature with my iPhone 3G. Thanks. That handbrake lever had more functionality than I ever thought...

I printed the instruction below and tried it by the line. Problem is when I get to the BT Tel, the Function tab is greyed out. So I cannot follow the registration procedure. Though when I paired the phone with the D3, it showed my Iphone name. You guys have any idea why my D3 is this way? Thanks for the help. I am eager to have my Iphone auto-connect to the unit.
  6. Also a noobie here. Just browsing thru the topics I've learned a lot on my AVIC D3 which I just finished installing last weekend.
