  1. They have a flat fee of $200. I assume that if the unit is intact and undamage they will replace whatever is defective for that cost. I got mines back and they replace the GPS module. But then the CD drive didn't work so I returned it with the original map DVD. Got it back a second time and the drive is still bad. I sent it in again. Their quality control sucks. You would think they would test the unit before shipping out. So I've been without a radio for 1-1/2 months and out over $250 for the initial fee and 3 x shipping cost to long beach. Hopefully it comes back in working conditio
  2. My upgraded ended the same way. I ended up sending mines to Pioneer repair. Somehow the upgrade kills the GPS module. If you go into the service menu you will see that the GPS pro ver probably says NG. It should say 1.50.
  3. Well, I'm in the same situation. Was the total $200? Or that didn't include parts? Since I have the IPod and BT components installed already, I figure it's easier and cheaper to fix the POS instead of spending more money to invest in a new unit and the extra accessories needed. Guess I'll pack mines up and ship it out. What was the turn around time? Did they upgrade the unit so it needs the 80MT dvds? TIA
  4. Well my unit is also giving me the wrong DVD message. Sounds like there isn't a solution to this problem. So I called Pioneer and they will charge a flat fee of $200 to repair the unit. I figure they have the resources to reflash the firmware. Should I just invest in another unit? I've hear good things about the kenwood navs. Or purchase another used unit? What are you guys doing with your bricks?
  5. I'm looking to install a backup camera to my AVIC D3. Can I use the power from the remote amp lead for +12vdc? I know these little cameras are low amps but will that lead supply enough without blowing the fuse? thanks.
