  1. Well I did get my remote by changing the tab over to DVD not avh. The numbers started working and I got to the service menu only to find out that my GPS softwared is FUBR'D. Oh well, all that down the drain.
  2. This is the remote that I'm using (CD-R55). I noticed that there's two different versions of this remote. I have the black one pictured here: What remote are you guys using? I thought I saw somewhere another remote that was silver in color. I'm also getting no sound when I hit the buttons but I can switch the source and change the songs on my ipod.
  3. How much did that end up costing you?
  4. I just bought the remote on monday (just shipped), we'll see how that goes. What's the $200 solution btw?
  5. Did the GPS work prior to the update? If so I would try resetting your D3 then go through the GPS menu and there's an option to check connection, make sure you're getting good reception. Check your antenna connection also.
  6. Like many other people on this board I was the victim of an unsuccesful upgrade. I burned my disc, checked capacity, 8.5gb for my west disk. Went for it...put it in the D3 said upgrade successful, ok sweet! Then the dreaded "Insert Apporpriate Disk". What are my options now? I've tried to reset it multiple times and insert my old disc to downgrade. That doesn't seem to be working. I read the instructions to get to the service menu but I guess I need a remote. Any help would be appreciated! Do I pretty much need to get a remote? We'll see how this goes
  7. P.S. Thank you Roger for finding the caps lock button and turining it off.
  8. Ok, so where did I go wrong? I downloaded the .rar of the west file and it's 3.93 gigs. Everyone is saying it should be 8.5 gigs. Is there another link other then the one on the first page that I'm missing? I'm clicking on the file btw, direct link. I extracted the .rar file and it still not 8.5 gigs. What's wrong here?
  9. Well, that's quite unfortunate. I did see many posts with the same problem. I think I'm out of warranty so I doubt I can claim this to Pioneer. The main reason I got the D3 was because of the built in GPS...without it it's just an overgrown CD player with IPOD connectivity.
  10. Thanks...like always should have searched first. After I posted I did type Los Angeles in and saw the multiple posts on this subject. I used the reset pinhole button and that fixed the problem. I'm crossing my fingers, hoping it doesn't become something that I have to do all the time. Thanks guys...this is a great forum.
  11. The AVIC-D3 has been working flawlessly for over a year. Last night it did something weird. I was driving home and everything was ok...suddenly I looked down and my map had changed from my location (San Diego) to Los Angeles. Yet I'm not moving anywhere on the screen but it does show that I'm turing directions just not going forward or back. I checked the connection settings and everything seems to be ok. Any suggestions?
