how about if you want to like zoom in and out of the route, if i have the trip saved? Also i have a PS2 hooked up for the rear tvs, would i be able to display that on the rear monitors while having the navi dvd in the system?

Yes you will have to pay for it. Most of Pioneer's update disks for other units are $250 so I don't see why this would be any different. Unless of course you find it elsewhere for less... like ebay or a torrent site. I have always found it pretty ridiculous how much they charge for the updates, but thats all companies not just Pioneer!
